5600 days ago 1 categories A great "East meets West" day at Pt Henry with the Geelong crew and a whole heap of Easties - about 16 all up. Great to catch up again with the Westies and also to meet so many new faces, including the Inverloch sailing club crew. Wind was probably 15-25knots and it was sunny almost all day. Surprisingly flat water for an open bay, due I gather to large weed banks. Good to explore different parts of the bay including the run inside the sand bank and low island although the wind was dropping a bit by the time we checked that out.
I started on my JP super-x with 27cm JP slalom fin but was dragging weed too much so I swapped to my Lorch DivS 63L speed board with KA 23cm assy fin which being shorter and more raked back didn't have such a problem with weed. Tushingham X-15 5.2m sail.
Many thanks to those who organised this event and who must have also had some good contacts with the weather gods.
