Inverloch

NW up to 30 kts in morning

WNW-W up to 25 kt in afternoon

Outgoing Tide

Xcite ride 135 lt, NP 5.9 EXCESS, 42 fin

Way too overpowered in the morning, lead to the "walk of shame" before lunch.  Around 3.30 pm the wind died enough to line up the speed strip.  It was lumpy on entry but once in close is was smooth and sweet.

Got a great launch on the first run- 22 kts, but the second run just lined up beautifully.  Ran out of wind at the end but it certainly felt quick -24.74 (corrected to 23.95 on the 2 second peak)

Watched Old Salty hit the strip and he was flying- certainly fastest run of the day.  Ended in a spectacular harness line snap which sent board and rider into the aIr with multiple somersaults.

10.07 PM

POST SCRIPT:

I rechecked data from gps and it initially missed all the data from the morning session.  A re- export to SBN file produced the updated results

After a walk of shame in the morning at Inverloch being caught out in a 30 kt squall, came back in and rested my bones whilst we had a bbq and decided I could not end the day on a bad note.  The others except Mick went home and we both posted PBs.  The tide ran out and exposed the speed strip and the wind dropped 5 kts and gave us more control

Inverloch

Wind speed 20 kts

Board SX M F2

Still not in the back strap

MFC 38

Sail NP 4.7 Zone

Spectacular dismount when my harness line snapped.  Board went 6 ft in the air and I did a backward somersault.  Felt like I could have gone faster.  Did it right in front of Mick and still suffering from a sore neck.

Select Viper speed 26cm

NP 4.5 combat

WSW 20-30

It was a fun day at the Pit today, dissapointed not to be quicker on the day but feeling more relaxed sailing broad, should of rigged the 5.0m instead of the 4.5
