Windy day at Melville.  Overdrive 5.5 and RRD 80 speed/slalom crossfire.

First day on the board... after playing with fins was starting to get comfy when the wind died.  Think this board has good potential!  Thanks to Jez at 2nd wind for the loan.  I'll give it back eventually!

Think it was a PB for me with no lead strapped on.

Code Red 6.5, Isonic 87 Chris Lockwood 28cm.

Great session to start with- strong wind, water over the bank and no weed.

Just as I got comfy with the rig, the wind died.

Good to sail with ya Darryl and Steve......, thanks for the beer Darryl, my round tomorrow.

Melville, got there a little late, on the water just after 5.00. Got 15min of OK wind before it started to swing and get gusty. Then another half hour of marginal gusty wind before getting stranded at the bottom of the sand bar. Then a 25min walk back along the sand bar to the carpark. TR4 6.6 isonic 86. Still good to get a sail after the last few hot days.

You know there are some days when you just have to admit defeat...give up while you're ahead...in fact sometimes just give up...I had such a day today. Haven't been in the water for a week, good breeze, really looking forward to it but nothing felt right. Spent the first 20 min adjusting stuff just to try and get comfortable. Then a couple of average runs...nothing off the wind, the "just one more at the end"...faark, how can the breeze drop from 20+ knots to ZERO in less than 5 min!!! Aaaarghhh! Yes, I had to SWIM in...not happy Jan!!

Should have stayed home. At least some of the team were out racking up good speeds!! Well done guys & gals...sorry for lack of support.Cry

Peli Point for the slalom. Did a short upwind to Melville before the race.

RRD Xfire 90, Vector Rockit 32 , KA 6.4

Good wind for the slalom. We did 3 rounds and in the 4'th the wind dropped to nearly nothing.

Got down at 4:30pm and rigged the 6.2 NP RSSIII on the JP Slalom V60 and a Choco 30 really comfortable combo apart from some weeding I did going out across the bar.

Well team I have to say I had a great day on the water often chasing Darryl around, a couple of the early runs across the sand bar I was right up his clacker but I don;t think he knew it. Embarassed

The killer is  I could not find my GPS, I am not sure if I have lost it yet or my wife has hidden it accidentally  or on purpose Cry

So if anyone has a seen a GT11 in a Paqua Midi floating around please let em know.

Hope I wasn't holding you up too much Graceman, good luck finding your GPS.

Jay, you didn't mention using your speed board?

Well the speed board got an outing but if I'm honest, it didn't go well. Going to need 20+ knots to get it on the plane, (oh and dropping 10 to 15kg too)- one day!

You mentioned, you clocked around 36knots- well done! It almost makes up for the long walk home.....

See ya tonight!

Well,

I have ordered another GPS - updating to the GT-31, $200 landed in Perth from http://www.semsons.com

I have searched high and low for the little fella with no success, if I do get it back I will have the backup of two units but I am not hopeful.

Darryl, I was right on the edge following you slightly upwind and could not catch you, but my timing was dead on I finished just as the wind died and I thought how are all those people stopped on the sand bar getting home Sealed
