5407 days ago Great day at hardy's, went for hour first, with the thommen and 6.0 lightning, but should have got there earlier, the wind picked up a bit too much towards the end, and I couldn't maintain my speed. But I'm happy with the 24 seeing how I stuffed 2 out of the 6 gybes. Was also happy with my line, this time I managed to use most of the estuary.
Then tried my new alpha fin, (21cm 45deg sym polyester) on the old speed board, feels very slippery. But the polyester doesn't appear to wear as well as I hoped, (but I was running thru the inside over the shallow sandbank.)
Now the wait is on to see what the other guys post.

5407 days ago 2 categories WooHoo, Maiden voyage of my recently aquired Kermit Green Carbon Art SP44 and what a voyage it was, hit Safety bay after work Rigged 5.8 RS Slalom II and screwed in my trusty 23cm sawn off Flying objects weedy, for once the tide was just right on the SB bar and the wind was there to back it up, a bit of stuffing around in the pond to get the board going right then i launched it down the bar got a 37 then let the outhaul off and got a 38 more, outhaul off and 39.34 on the dial, another 38 then 40.19 (big thanks to realspeed for bringing back down below 40) tried to back it up but only came in at 39, sun was getting a bit low and everyone else had dissappeared so called it a day a very content speedsailor
Thats a Safety Bay PB and probably the Safety bay record as well
Loved the 44 once I got it dialled in, will move front straps forward as it was still not right and I had to run it with the mast almost all the way at the front of the track

Mixed feelings about tonight, was totaly out of sorts for all session. Started out when rigging up noticed adjustable outhaul cleat had slipped went to move it back tightened screws stripped both threads.
Got out my wave boom, had to change harness lines to longer speed lines, went out with the chopbuster as the run looked a wee bit lumpy, thought I'd give Snides NM line a go as everywhere else looked like a motocross track, got my Nm on the first run with harness lines in wrong spot, pissed of as I reckon I droped about 0.5knot as the last 10-15 secs was unhooked as I'd gotten bounced out of the harness.
The next run went the Nm again same issue, bounced out of the harness to get back had to tack out of the inside to get back harness lines never felt comfy, eventually changed down to the 25cm fin which had a bit more speed in it, did some runs down in alphaland with Sammy who was smoking
Overall not to bad but did not feel at all happy out there

5405 days ago True story... I changed my name and avatar this morning because I thought F***k the 40, also I was going to go to PWalter then thought, nah going to sail with my mates and do an hour with Mike!! funny live is it... let it go and it comes to you . 40.00 exactly on the dial thanks Elmo and Joe for sharing that moment with me.
Shame for the 5x10 I have 4 runs on the 5m, 3 was above my previous PB!!! One more and would have been another PB.. Quite pride to have it done at Hards today, not easy as no much room for the flat stuff on the run, and was very square.. Well done Hardie and Elmy, it was hairy, dangerous..
Anyway, I started for an hour with the Manta59 and a Talon 32 (thanks Ado for the test drive), it felt ok, but overfined too me alf way throught the session.. shoudl have used a 30 or even a 28 (I don't like big fins).. well done Mike, I could not catch you out there!! you got me alright.. you are such a good sailor mate . Went and joined Ado on the hour then Mike... Well Ado for the 40 on the dial
Then put the 5.8 on the 44, had couple runs, came back exausted (the hour had killed me!).. Took my courage and setup the 5m, bolted it to the 44 joined with my best hand crafted 22 fin (still no name for it, as it has a very special line). Everything felt great, nicely tuned, no spinout, upwind easy, etc.. mmmmh nice day it was..
Now I can say I done it...
Manta59, Talon 32, RSS_5,8 - CA44, RSS_5.8, 245/40_SS then CA44, RSS_5, 220/40_Special
EDIT:
Sorry to come back on it.. I had a look to my data today, to see what went wrong with the 5x10 and poor NM!! I missed on one 5x10 run (I was getting faster and faster every runs!), for the NM well, I did not do any!! what the D**K I am!! I would I blow my PBs .
The positive about this session, I got to know that setup better, as it was the firts time I used it in a SW seabreeze . It was small but very efficient and fast.. I learn for the next time..
