Sandringham, Botany Bay. David and I caught the last half hour of the exposed strip after the wind filled in as a gusty south wester. Wind was anywhere between 10-18 knots I guess. Great to just finally have a sail after so long in the doldrums.

Kyeemagh - South Ramp, 18-22 knots SSW (except for one run where it swung SSE and dropped to 10 knots)

Starboard S-Type 104, Loft Switchblade 6.8, 30cm Select Viper fin

Absolutely brilliant day! Super steady 18-22 knots southerly, crazy bumpy! I'm convinced it's the waves bouncing off the runway that creates the weird diamond chop. No weed or jetskis too. Dave, if you're reading this, I saw your plane take off & I was waving as best I could in the chop. Nearly lost it...

On the water a little after the wind came in at 12:30 and had to call it a day at 4:30 - just couldn't see. Damn you winter! Pitch black at 5:30!!

Sandringham, S winds 15-20kts. Started the day down at Kyeemagh sitting in the van waiting for the rain to go away and the wind to build. Eventually it came through. Managed to sail upwind to the speed strip and had some great fun with Rexy while it lasted.

Another fun southerly off the end of the point at kurnell - the wind really rocks thru the channel there.

Smoking alpha Craig and well done to all the other Cockies who posted really good speeds for the conditions. I can't believe the wind came through like that. The forecast looked very ordinary in the morning so I made other plans and was too far away from the water when it came through. D'oh! And Rexy, I think the boys on formula are on to something. I'm seriousy considering taking it up myself now. Put it this way, I have never heard of anyone who took up formula after slalom and speed sailing say it was a bad move. All of them have been stoked.

Last 3-4 southerlys we have been sailing over at the point at kurnell - found the wind to be a fair bit stronger and there is one section it funnels thru. There is a bit of chop as it comes over the shallow sand bar but its pretty small.

From Sat 22 may 2010

From the 12 may 2010

That single long run was when i sailed over to the dolls point channel to see what the wind was doing over that side and it was at least 5 knots lighter. The 12th had a bit more westerly in it so cans ee out runs were a lil furhter out.
