Brad Cawthorne (5905km): Awesome wind at the Grand, pretty flat and debris free water considering the weather. Couple of houseboats parked right in the way. Ended up coming in a bit early as I did a big "lift off" and on landing must of had my teeth clenched and chipped a couple, also bent the boom up about 2 inches and tore a hole in the gps pouch. Now just got to dry out the gps as the pet galah had previously chewed the top off the toggle button. Think I'll just get a new boom as that one has had couple of good years use and have repaired a break in it once before. AB plus 95, hellcat 5.2 ,venom 32 . ODIN (24578km): Went down to VP today with the mob to get a good speed sail over the sand bar as the tide was getting higher , waiting for the water to be deep enough. The wind was pretty marginal and it did not really want to play makeing it pretty gusty on the run itself but still it got a bit too choppy to push for higher speeds. After when the tide got higher then the wind cranked in , i was really getting overpowered on the 6.7 , typicall for it to come in at the wrong time but that didnt last too long.. Did a craking run crosswind (92 to 97deg) with the nudey hitting a 36 that was awesome and bloody smoking especially in the chop that we had the board preformed very well but would have been better on a smaller sail and then after put on the JP VI 59 to do some slalom runs and managed to squeeze in a 35kt run smacking it again crosswind through the rough stuff was very pleased with that but eneded up being to underfinned causing alot of spinouts , waitng for the bigger fins to arrive ... All in all a good day on the water could have been a bit better and was great to see most of the mob out....

RIGGS (4886km): Sailed at Viki point, waited a bit too long so tide was a bit high and too choppy. Fully cooked on the 6.3 at times. Happy with speeds considering the conditions. is86, blade 6.3, 30cm Venom
Vando (27318km): sailed VP today with some of the team looking for flat water but wasnt to be. very choppy wind was up and down alot still nice to get wet. New 6.3 felt great

phil (16478km): Hard 112km today but cant complain about the wind. Some great gusts but hard to find some flat water to get some speed. Tried the speed bank but too late as most of the bank was under water. Spent most of the time out the front of Thompsons beach in some difficult chop and a lot of floating crap in the water. Sonic 95, C3 32, Blade 6.3. PS. Well done brad on the 2 pb's. The grand is a good spot to get thrown and have come undone there before. Victoria Point, QLD, AU
Jemo (2367km): not a great day at VP, gusty choppy and poor choice of kit. couple of good runs that were a bit hairy. good to be out
B. A. Baracus (4909km): Quick sail before I went up to Bundy. So choppy. SXs, GrandPrix 7.0, SL37. |
