Desperation sail to cool off...should have hit the water 20 min earlier when there were a few puffs!

However, great to have the first sail for the year!

JP SLW 90, NP H2 8.7, JP 52 pointer.

A quick blat(grovel) after kid sitting all afternoon in 5-7 knots of wind 5:30-p-6:15pm.

Watched a bull shark cruise under the board, polarized sunnies are good for that, gave the freckle a squeeze.

Started my New Years resolution to sail more with day 1 Cool already ticked off.

Watched a couple of the team float in

OD5.4, Sonic85, F128. Coal Mine Beach, Walpole. Great sail. Overpowered in the middle of the inlet and choppy as (worse than the Swan on a bad day!). Sailed the shallows over the far side to escape the worst of the chop and to find more manageable wind. The shallows were not that flat, and the water was so clear that it made the chop hard to see - very similar to Cocos, but Cocos is of course warmer........Wink Was hoping for a better Nm - the place certainly has more potential than I was able to extract. My best Nm for the day was actuallu on my longest run to the south through the chop.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Isonic 122/ Technic 56, Code Red 8.1 @ Melville.

Ok Ok, I get it Nilss, I should have sailed yesterday......

I think I "jagged" the only bit of wind today- rigged just at the right time.  In dead flat water I took a couple of long trips to the end of Pt Walter 'n back. Unfortunately, the wind died on the last leg- long wobble back.

Very funny Tony......, I trust your "freckle" is relaxed now. I knew there were sharks out there, just needed someone else to confirm it. Right, no more falling off for me!!!

Steve- Thanks for the lend of the mast base mate- worked well!

Nilss, I like dolphins usually pretty good at identifying them with bottle nose etc, and with the polarized sunnies I get a great view underwater, it (he/she) was about 50 cm's underwater cruising Southerly on the inside of the bank. About 1.5 meters long and I had a great view of the snout which was bull shark bronze whaler type. If you look at my scintillating speeds for the afternoon, I was having a great look at all the jellies and other floating crap when this mutt happened a long. Needless to say with my ability to fall in I decided that the shore on the other-side was a safe bet.

I think you have to land on them to piss them off otherwise they are happy to cruise for scraps and stay away from us.

Jay happy to go sailing with you in the light stuff as you look like a better feed Sealed

Good spotting tony.  I saw a large sting ray a few weeks ago. We're only really in trouble if a white or tiger or hammerhead or other larger more aggressive beast comes up river looking for a feed.  But then again they all have teeth!
