Started well on the iSonic 115, NP RX1 7.0 and choco 36.

Got the best alphas and speeds on this combo. Nice.

Got a bit too much later so swapped to RX1 6.1 and S-Type 93 choco 30 but was too tired to do much. Then gave toes a good stubbing and that was enough.

Pretty happy overall for 2nd session of the year.

Good to meet Bennie and Jay from Southsiders.

Good day out with Baldy and caught up with Benny as well. Wind picked up nicely throughout the day and had to go in for more downhaul on the 6.7 and then change down to the 6.2. Speeds were pretty similar but 6.2 felt more comfortable. Spent the last few runs pretty south in the bay and found some much smoother water but the arms were done by then.

Yeah, Fk yeah, Hell Yeah, AWW Yeah, yeah yeah yeahs, yea ha, yabba dabba doo 30!

Big thanks to Jesper for the new Vector 30, Bertie for the JP FSW and new foot strap screws, Bender for the footstrap off his old wave board, Dave for the KA Koncept and Jesper for repairing it many times, Nebs for the good times, Benny for the stirring, Snake cos he makes fast look easy, Darryl for the beer afterwards, Claude for the rigging tips, Ray gun for cheerleading and many more people- This 30kn 2 sec PB is for you !!

So, I drove from home to lunch in Melville, to north perth for gear to morley to drop daughter off at party, to Point walter. That was mission No1.

Saw the crew loading up on go-go boards and high 6's. Rigged 6.6. Troutty was out first and then the cavalcade of stars- Claude, Hayden, Slowy, Darryl, Mr Manta 47, Mr Precision Equip, Mr Carbon Art Vapor and me. It was Sandy Point folks!! Sails down on the run, waiting in line, close follow of the bank, Man it was smoking.

And then some flat water for some gybing. Few holes appeared like a cartoon bugs bunny and I fell into them, but it was great sailing!

Did I tell you I got 30 ? It was point and shoot and the gear did the rest. I was pushing for a higher 30 to make sure it was no fluke. I got 30 - did i mention that?

And to top it all off, a man in white with the sunlight behind him, flowing locks and bare foot- looking like Jesus handed me a bottle with an angel on it. We live in Gods country and I sail with Jesus or someone impersonating him with WA 119 on his sail.

30 knots - I am delirious!

and my NM had 2 gybes thats all right !! I am getting better at them !

Wannabee sail stickers available- $15 for set of 4 txt me 0404 235 623

Not much at all. You were right about your alpha too. I was surprised by mine, I had a couple of gybes that felt OK but as I said when we were packing up, it can be a bit deceptive and some that feel good aren't always that fast. Nice to have ended up with the pb though.

Welcome to the extremely exclusive 30 knot clubSmile. Now you can rub shoulders with the likes of Garry and BennyUndecided.

Now the best way to increase your speed is to put on some more weightWink,ie beer, pizza and sausage sizzles. (the Benny method)

Or .... Rig big, bear off downwind as far as you can +10 degrees and put your nuts in a sling cause you're gonna loose them.(the Slowie method)

CONGRATULATIONS TOBY.SmileSmileSmileCoolCoolCool

Congratulations Toby and a great story to go with the PB's.

I remember the day I first broke 30kts (pretty easily because it wasn't all that long ago). I'm still not sure if my arms were tired the next day from the sailing or all the fist pumping that happened when I saw 30kts on the GPS that first time.

My only complaint is that my 2sec PB was counting towards the team results until you pipped me by .11 kts.Cry Oh well, I'll just have to toughen up and push harder next time.Laughing
