LOCATION:  ANGLING CLUB

WIND:  SW- 20- 25  KTS PEAKING < 30 KTS

TIDE:  OUTGOING

GEAR:  JP Excite Ride 110, 34 cm fin, KA Koyote 5.9

SAILORS:  Peter J, Chris, Phillip, and Richie

DETAILS:  What a day!

Richie SMS'd me this morning to say it'd be blasphemous to work when the forecasr looked so good.  Ditched work at 9.45 am and headed to the Inlet.  The tide had already started to go out just before noon and the eastern end of the strip was super smooth.  Actually on the mid tide, the run wnet the entire length of the strip.  Got my peak at the bottom of the strip when I got on a bullet and just kept going faster and faster!.....I ran out of room at the end of the spit and had to come off the gas but the board and rig felt great.

I made a few tweaks- mainly shortening harness lines and running with a waist harness which seemed to help me hike out further (maybe it forced me to hang off the boom more).

Peter and Chris rocked up along with Phillip, and we had great runs down the strip although teh tide had gone out enough to make the eastern end a bit of a gamble.  Richie rocked up at 4.45 and was planning a session til the sun went down.

Totally magic day!!

Wow - awesome stuff Mick.  4 pb's woohoo.  Damn jealous.  I was thinking on the way home with a huge wind spike forecast down there at 8 pm would have been worth a drive to check it out

Richie,

thats awesome...especially when you only had a few hours to knock those numbers out.

thanks guys for the comments....it was just one of those days where it all lines up!

it certainly was the best the Inlet has been for a long time...typical that it happens on a weekday when most of the crew can't share it....

Awesome Job!!!!

You know I was spewing when I was chatting to you while you were getting your gear into the car. From all the tree debris on the road I knew you were in for a great session.

Well done Richie. 30knots!!!!! Fantastic achievement.
