Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

Finally some wind for me to record my 1st proper session since getting my GT31 Smile

Had a mid 29 on the dial but its dropped a bit with the upload Frown

Started on my Sonic freeride 98L & 6.6 Koyote wind 15-20kts.  Wind kicked in hard and then settled at about 20-25 so got the wave gear out, 74L Tabou Da Curve & 5.3 Kult.  Was really bumpy and not much flat water except on the inside this evening but the wind was up and down in there and water was quite shallow so not able to really give it a good go.

Great fun with a good crew out.

LOCATION:  AREA 45

WIND:  E- ESE- 10-25 KTS..PEAK AT 30 KTS

TIDE:  INCOMING TO OUTGOING

GEAR:  AM:  JP EXCITE 160, 46 cm G1o, KA KOYOTE 8.3,

MIDDAY:  JP S/Sport 136, 38 cm mean fin, KA Koyote 6.6

PM:  Jp Excite 110, 32 cm mean fin, KA Koyote 5.3

SAILORS:  MOONDO, DAN, ROB, KURT, JAMES, EVAN

DETAILS:  Good challenging day of sailing @ 45.  The day started with heaps of flat water but the wind was 10-15 KTS.  I rigged the big gear and had a good hour session on the plane.  Wind started to build so I rigged down to the 6.6 and S/sport.  Af few good runs but the increase in wind, and tide movement started to create some chop.  The chop continued to build, as did the wind.  At one stage, Moondo and I got hit by a massive burst.  I reckon it was all of 30 kts....(anything which knocks Moondo down 3 times in a row has gotta be 30 knots plus!).

Watched Evan do a few "slightly" in control runs but the chop was making it a challenge.

Came in and rigged down again to the 5.3 and Excite 110 but by the time I hit the water, the wind was patchy- coming in huge gusts then nothing.  Had a about 5 runs but the 5.3 wasn't working for me.

Still, another great day!

Course Racing at Mordialloc

Wind: 15-20 knots and very gusty

Kit: 9.5 Tush. XR Race, Mistral Raceboard

Did 2 races at Mordi yesterday on the raceboard. I think I found the upper limit at 20 knots, of me holding down a 9.5!!

Wasnt hard to get PB's across the board.  I've only used the GPS on my wally in <10kts and on the SUP from the JP/NP trailer also <10kts prior to this session.  There hasnt been wind (except for while at work - we cant all "have a meeting to go to" mid week like some others i know of) since i've had it too.

Well done guys! Was great sailing with you all as short as it was for me - wish I could have stayed longer. Quite challenging conditions - nose of the board kept slamining into the back of the chop coming down the "speed" bit slowing me down somewhat. Chickened out half way down on a few runs!. Still, everyone seemed to be handling the conditions well! 45 really turns it on from time to time.
