Tinaroo was not really enjoyable today.    The gusts hit so suddenly and stopped  just as quick.   Rigged 6.5m Booster which was too big in the

gusts and not big enough in lulls.   ....No sun, but at least no rain till it was packup time.

Sunny day, not a lot of wind but a nice amount. Nice day for some comfortable sailing. Needed the 7.5m and bigger fin.

Isonic 115lt, 34cm Talon

CA50, Delta 23, 6.4 Koncept, Green Island.

Bit under done with the wind today, another five knots would have given us some nice numbers.

Took me a while to work out how to get speed through the chop again(too much time sailing on flat water), the CA50 loses to much momentum when going straight over the back of chop. We had to run square along the chop and then try and slingshot into the 50 metres of flat water we had. Only problem with that was the wind stopped about half way down our 50 metre speed strip. Thought I had some ok alphas today but after checking thay were just outside the 50 metre radius.

Congrats on the PB's teamCool and good to see a few of us getting out.

Green Island. Not quite as windy as i hoped but a great day at the island with the sun out and clean flatish water all day. Used Iso 96 withVMG 6.0 and drake 34 for Alpha and Hour then CA 50 with Slingshot 21 for the rest of the day.

iS101, 7.0 Blade, 37 KA Sl - Lammermoor Beach / Nth Keppel Island, QLD, AU Wind SE 12 -21knots

Well I wasn't intending (nor prepared) to sail to North Keppel but on my first run out I was nicely powered up and heading straight for the island so I thought what the heck - if the boys are at GI then I'm going to Nth Keppel Wink.  As the crow flies it's about 16km one way so not overly long but hadn't expected the ocean to be so messed up in the middle and took a hell of a lot of concentration just keeping the board on the water. Was really excited and thought I'd do some scouting but by the time I hit the beach over there the wind seemed to be dropping out, so I gybed and made the (correct) decision to come straight back.  Wind was marginal on return leg until about 5 km out and had one almighty get off right in the middle from a wicked piece of chop.  Thought for a minute in middle of bay that I wouldn't be able to waterstart but got going on a lucky gust.

Had some okay runs back off Lammermoor beach but wind never amounted to much and eventually died right off with some skuds that came through.   Decided to call it a day and was near north end of beach when the best gusts of the day came through.  Very happy that I got my 2sec PB for here and a 31.5kn 10 sec run in the last 10minutes of the session.  Bit disappointed about my hour as I never got consistant wind for more than 30mins. Also just realised second best Nm for here as well Smile

News from Port Douglas,Have had some great sessions in Port since the Wind Gods have woken.Last sunday arvo was a big event the crew from the Table Lands came down,James ,Graig ,Ian,Kay,Triston,Simie and chris one of the locals lads.We had a good 18kts most of the time but got up to over 20kts for the last hr which made me work hard hanging on to a 6.5m.everyone went away shagged but happy to survive the very choppy conditions..Had a unreal sail on friday with my young Nephew who is now a hot shot sailor who was spent a lot of time sailing overseas. Was maxed out all arvo on my trusty 101 hanging on to a 6.5m,a great way to end a week of work..Have now got GPS again James came for a saturday session, was hoping to have Fast Freddy and his legendary coach Bob here,Fredo had the flu which slowed him down big time.Me and James had a great sail in gusty conditions and a very lumpy sea. 101 and 6.5 felt great all arvo..Sunday arvo wind starting to die James and the girls came down from the hills had a great sail,I caught the last hr had a fantastic blast on a soft sea 125lt board 7.3m sail what a way to end the weekend will post todays session during the week having trouble with GPS...Cheers Ed...

Port Douglas, QLD, AU.  Finally back on the water after a long break following a back operation at the end of last year. Originally hurt my back playing tennis, but finished it off on a big day at Green Is. This was my first sail since August last year, actually my second because I sailed the weekend before also at Pt Douglass with Ed and others.  Used a 6m with an old and trusted fiberglass  270 wind action, wind was a steady 15-17 kn, had a fantastic day. Firie,

Thanks mate - your enthusiasm for the team is amazing.  Now all we have to do is get you out for a decent sail.  Bit stupid going over to NK as I never told anyone and my phone hadn't been charged for ages. Had water though so that made up for lack of communication.

Nice PB's Ricky and Lyn - alsways nice to get one (or three)

Gaz & Kel - lovely work but tomorrow don't bother posting unless you both have 40 knot peaks Wink  Also can you hop across to Arlington for a 38knot Nm .  Where's the Doc too?

Thanks Carl but I reckon Cam's trip looks more fun though Wink  I was a bit disappointed I didn't stick around to scout the island out but the risk of getting stuck half way between Yeppoon and the islands didn't really appeal to me.

Nice work too Cam.  I assume there's a medical conference on Maui Wink

Grats on taking the plunge to return to sailing after a serious back injury. I suffered a mild back injury and returned x6 weeks ago to windsurfing. My back is improving but then my fitness is to. Never thought you needed to be fit for the sport but core strength comes from this great sport!!
