dr cam (16004km): Arlington Reef sse 15-22 then Green Is se-20-22. RRD 105 X fire Sting 38 RSS E 2 7.0 Fabulous day with great wind direction for Arlington -unfortunately enough water for only 90mins . Rough as anything out in the middle & difficult as always getting back up wind -off the NM run the chop was brutal & between the Island & Arlington was as bad as i've seen it . Great team effort -hopefully we've done enough to pip the Tassie boys ...!!!
Gaz (11396km): CA53, Talon 32, 6.4 Koncept, Arlington reef and Green Island. Team day at Green with a goal. Was to stuffed after eight days of sailing to keep up with Kel on the K's. Well done Kel, huge effort. Probably the first time ever that I haven't been able to keep up on the distance. Edit; The speed board probably wasn't the ideal board to do a reef run on but felt better when I found out I wasn't the only one to struggle getting back to the island. At one stage I thought I might have to give up and sail back to Holloways. First time using a Talon in this board and very impressed with the performance in less than ideal conditions. The Venom 30 felt nice in this board but the Talon just took it to another level. Had a check on google and we ended up 5.3K's downwind so it was no wonder we had trouble getting back to the island. Snags and Kellie, you should wait until we all post First run to the south east corner of the reef was 16K's long and then a 10K downwinder along the edge of the reef.

Toody (3523km): Awesome day outer reef cruising with Kel, Gaz, and Cam. Cant wait to get amongst the waves there to!!! Magic spot!!!! Short session due to major hip pain after getting hung up on the boom yesterday arvo. 122 Futura 6.5 Gator Green Island, QLD, AU
Kel (13168km): Green Island, QLD, AU Go Green!! Headed to the island today with Cam, Gaz and Toody not expecting that much wind. So in a last ditch effort for the month we decided to go for distance and hour. On arrival the wind was still a good 20knts so in a mad panic i rigged my new 7.2Np evo2 RS Slalom(thanks Cam!) and headed to Arlinton. Once there we all sailed the reef until it ran out of water then headed back upwind to the island through the roughest and most confused water i have ever experienced in my 25 years of sailing. Used Isonic 96 Strike 34 and NP 7.2 |
