scarrgo (6801km): Melville Beach, WA, AU a quck sail in the storm was crazy windy got blown over several times on my smallest gear and as depowered as possible so after a big crash i decided to pack it up was bloody scary when i was able to run with the gusts i can't imagine what 40 knots is like need to get a reflex to replace my ageing koncept the wind range on the reflexes just trumps all i have no doubt i would have been able to hang onto a simular size reflex in those conditions oh well was good fun even though it was cold and hurt alot a few times 5.0 koncept, 76 isonic, 26 jp sp
Macka Packa (8161km): Pelican Point, WA, 0.92kt hour... SMOKIN Huey... you got some 'splaining to do Well done scarrgo
Hardpole (5685km): Safety Bay, 6.5 Ezzy - way too big once the wind hit. Went to change down to the 5m after swimming in and realised I hadnt brought the mast for it (but had remembered the boom) - so called it a day at that. Still good to at least get out on the water. Wild times on the water.
lao shi (27489km): Great session at Safety Bay with Recycle, Stringer, Hardpole, Adam and Pointman. Went to woodies first after the wind swung WSW but no wind. Went to Safety Bay with Recycle and Stringer and it was not too windy there either. Rigged the LB7, but it was soon too much. Windiest day in a long while and spent quite a bit of time hanging on to the kit waiting for the big squall to abate. Unfortunately it took 30+ minutes. Recycle decided to float back across during the big squall. I waited and took a chance on sailing down the bank. Just survived and then sailed sheeted out back to the car park. Rigged the 5 and nonose and after the first run the GT31 appeared to have frozen (first time ever! for me). Tried to turn it off but no joy so went back to the car to get the spare GT11. Just as I had put the GT11 in the pack the 31 unfroze and behaved itself for the rest of the day???? Fastest speed of the day on the Koncept 5 (hasn't seen action for a long time) and the nonose. Unfortunately by that point the wind had died back and the 5.7 would have been better. The wind had backed off and then died off all together. Everybody packed up and I packed up the 5 and nonose. As everyone left the wind kicked back in hard! Persevered with the sonic and 7 but well over done. Decided to have a go at alphas but the wind was swinging all over and couldnt pick a line. Came in and put the nonose back on again and some weight. Best alpha was the very last run of the day. As dusk came the bar was starting to appear but was physically done by then. Top marks to Stringer who kept bashing away during the big squalls with some very close calls. Super pleased you came out with top speed of the day! Well done Scarrgo on the PB! Time for dinner! LB7,Koncept 5, S100, nonose, elmo29 and 24 weedies.

Pointman (8480km): Safety Bay. Got down there @ 1 and it was nuking. Sheltered in the car while I waited for the squall to abate a little then started rigging the 5.8. Damn, forgot the RDM adaptor!! Switched to the 6.6 and eventually hit the water @ 2 with the CA47 + 6.6 TR7 + 23 Slingshot combo. Got two reasonably powered up runs in (and a couple of 35 peaks) before it started to back off. Went in and grabbed the F111, but the breeze was only 17-18K by this time and I couldn't even get planing. Spewin Went over the road and got myself a pie while we all waited around to see if the breeze would return. By 3.45 I was cold, wet and over the waiting game, so I packed it in. The breeze was building as I left, but had no idea it was going to boot back in big time. Well done to Nic for his 40K display speed and Norts and Mark for making the most of the conditions.
