Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

Quick sail this morning with Colin, only bout 1-1.5hrs, early there was no wind then came up from W, the tide was coming in really fast too.  Got a couple of ok runs, didnt really feel too comfortable, but not too bad considering its only the 2nd time i've used the board.  As the tide came in it was really difficult to see the edge of the bar as the sun was in our eyes.  Colin hit it hard but luckily didnt break anything.  Called it a day because we just couldnt see anything.

Wind - W approx 15-18kts ish

Gear - Isonic 101, MFC RC2 400, KA Koyote 6.6

For brass monkey challenge: Air temp approx 13-14 deg C - http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDV60801/IDV60801.94886.shtml

Thanks to Dan for relocating us from the angling club to area 45, much more wind there.Rigged 6.7 NP Saber, 40cm concrapcrete wave fin and 105 tabou rocket. Had too much fin, but didn't get round to changing it. The sun was blinding and I catapulted in ankle deep water much to the amusement of the local wading birds nearby.

No damage :-) Somehow I managed to go from 21kts to zero, harness magically unhooked (short lines for the win!), didn't snap my feet off in the straps. I'm still amazed.

Pro tip: don't sail area 45 when the tide has covered all the sandbanks and the sun's in your eyes.
