Dan_P (4440km):  6 categories       Swan Bay, VIC, AU IWC road trip to Swan Bay. Early was good, put up the 6.6. Koyote and Isonic 86 slim, way over powered and did the whole run sideways a few times spinning out (not used to a weedie). Changed to a 5.9 koyote and felt much more in control, got out on the run and had 1 run down and then the wind died. Waited for a bit and went for a bit of a schlog in the light stuff but called it a day. Great turnout from the team, and our hosts. | ||||||||||||||||||
Old Salty (1642km):  Swan Bay, VIC, AU F2 SX Med Koncept 5.8 Lessacher 28 weedie Road trip with IWC and Southerly Busters to meet our Connewarre Cremasters at Swan Bay. First time around at Queenscliffe end and with wind blowing 20 kts NW it was great. Only problem was negotiating the sand bars and further out did not necessary mean deeper water. New Koncept felt great and I actually got to deck the sail(Kato will be surprised) with the speed bar on my harness. F2, weedie and Koncept both felt great. Sav (808km):  2 categories Swan Bay, VIC, AU Comedy day at swan bay. Got lost on the way there, rigged 2 sails 4 times, overpowered, underpowered. Sank my board to the bottom while uphauling in no wind, perfected the underwater gybe and spent quite a lot of time porpoising my board along the bottom of the bay. | ||||||||||||||||||
Drift (5307km):  1 categories LOCATION: SWAN BAY WIND: NW- 20 KTS DROPPING TO MINUS 10 KNOTS GEAR: Carbon Art FR 77, 34cm True Ames Weedfin, KA Koyote 6.6 DETAILS: Road trip to Swan Bay...theres nothing better than waking to the sound of wind in the trees. Hit the road to Gellong and after some (err) travel technicalities (ie getting half the team lost!) we arrived at Swan Bay. Jacques took us through the ins and outs although judging by the amount of crew that ran aground or hit the bars I dont think anyone listened!. Nice big expanses of water once you got around the bars. Definately on m books to come back and visit. Dissapointingly, the wind died at lunchtime. We all stayed out for a dogged session in the hope that the wind would increase. Richie and Ash hit the water but the wind didn't come through. | ||||||||||||||||||
