Boggy Lake, SA, AU

01-07-11 Boggy Lake 14-22 knots NNE-6.3 Blade-Fanatic SL111-C3 Sting2 36cm

Great sail with Team Captain Tim. Very impressed with his sailing a 7.8m with Fanatic SL134. I would have been blown out if I'd used 7.8. Was occasionally underpowered but on the whole 6.3 Loft Blade was the gun sail for me today. Amazed that Northerly hung in as long as it had.

If I had know I was so close to 200 kms I maybe would have pushed throught the pain barrier and continued. I stopped as wind had eased off and more importantly I had no arms. Muscle fatigued to the max.

A great sail yesterday and today. Much better today!!  :-)

Fun day(Birthday Sail) at Boggy with PJ.  Wind was quite consistent and we were doing 5km runs in  the main lake.  Peter did well on his 6.3 as I was only just on the plane on occasions with a 7.8!  A few fishing nets to watch out for and metalwork just under the surface out from the old Jetty at Boggy 2.  Spent the first hour replacing a broken batten tip after the sail looked a little strange when rigged.  I reckon it has been that way for a while and it definately felt better on the water.

Nice PB'S PJ - I knew you had bettered your hour!

Karl, Tim weighs in at 110 kgs+, me 85 kgs. He's a big unit with no disrespect to Tim so the 7.8m was THe sail for him! The Fanatic SL111 is a sweet match with the 6.3m Balde with even foot pressure between front and back whereas I've a loose front foot with the 7.8 Blade. I'm still trying to figure how to balance this out and trying small adjustments. I know I've more top end range from the 7.8 and is a work in progress:-)

Thanks all for the grats and hope to build on distance PB's. I'm no speed gun but love the cruising sideTongue out

Come on Speed Demons dust off your cobwebs and pray to the wind gods for big numbers!

Well done on the pb's pete, soon it will be summer and you will smash the 200 easy, I also sailed and had the gps on but can;t get a card reader until monday, was om a 4.7  and starboard quad so no fantastic stuff from me. can't wait to get home and back on the speed board with some flat water, it's so choppy over here, watched the slalom races this arvo and the old aussie phil mcgain flogged them all.

Smile and Happy birthday Tim..........
