Set of with Mark S and tacked to Pin Mill, only falling in a few times; easier than Felixstowe chop. Could not point anywhere near as high as Mark and lot slower too. First time up the river and nice views, loads of yachts out to avoid. Best wind was going upstream. Stopped to explore the river bank, and once to help Roger who went ashore to repair his mast head; always handy to have a bit of rope. Wind dropped so headed back downstream after landing Ipswich side of river just past Woolverstone. Mark went extra mile up to bridge. 75 mins to get upriver and 30 to get back on long run with river current mostly. Nice day.

The started well went for a bike ride to Landguard for breakfast :) even if Mag did get a puncture !!! weather still more like April than August and we saw a Wheatear and collected lots of blackberries for crumble :) Then I spoiled it all by going windsrfing after lunch !!! With the wind west and lightish and the tide low I went and had a lood at the flat water the other side of the exposed shingle bank by the River Deben entrance into Bawdsey beach, some nice flat water but not enough wind :( Had a few runs then gave up ,perhaps it's time to be loking at a Phantom as my cat seems to be getting very heavy :(
