Last full day on the island so wanted to make the most of it... certainly did that!!!
Up early for a quick sail before breakkie and before the water got too low, on the 7.8 Tush lightening & 120 firestorm. Out for breakkie and then to Pulu Maria for some snorkelling at low tide. Chased some reef sharks around for an hour or so until Ez cut herself on a bit of coral... then the chasing game reversed so quickly out of the water back to the room and then i headed down for an arvo sail on the incoming tide. 7.0 weather this arvo and sailed from 4:00 until almost 6 when it was getting dark. Came in, unrigged and checked GPS... 99.3km, quickly grabbed the closest sail & board to me and went out for one more out to the middle of the lagoon and back, and happy with my 104.5km for the day.
It was a full moon so a BBQ on the beach and a few frothies to welcome in the last evening of our holiday... 1 frothie turned into 4,5...8,9 ish and suddenly we're rigging up again and back on the water in the full moon haing tied glow sticks to the masts. Unbelievable sailing in boardies under a full moon, really was something else. At one stage i dropped my sail and just sat there watching the other guys flying around under the stars.. just awesome... of course this boosted my total k's for the day too so pretty stoked with that pb. a few casualties though. Matt came off on a piece of coral and cut his foot up and Jez busted a mast - it was worth it.
