Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

Squeezed in a really quick session at 45 before heading up to Melbourne for a family B'day & Engagement dinner (since it was for my engagement i thought i  better turn up, that would've been a good start to the rest of my life wouldnt itTongue out)

Sailed at 45, Drift & Naz sailed down from the Angling club on a Wally and SUP to join me for a few runs before heading back.  Gee the water at 45 gets gnarly on an incoming tideSurprised... was hairy heading off the wind even though the wind was light.

Gear - 7.4 Koyote & 136 Supersport (Could've done with my iSonic 101 in hindsight)

Wind - 12kts ish from SSE

Wish i had've sailed up at the angling club with Kato et al.  Water looked a look nicer when i stopped in there for a quick chat on the way home.

LOCATION:  ANGLING CLUB TO @45 TO INLET MOUTH

WIND:  ESE- 12-15 KTS

TIDE:  OUTGOING TO SLACK

GEAR:  Starboard 12'6 SUP, KA KOYOTE 8.2

DETAILS:  Whoa!  Most fun Ive had in ages.  Arrived at the Inlet with about 3 knots of breeze.  It picked up to about 10 so rigged the big gear.  Took the JP out but it was marginal so I switched to the SUP.  The wind filled in a bit so Naz and I decided to sail down to Dan @ 45.  Great sail as the wind picked up and I got the SUP planing!.  Its a bugger to get the nose down and not having footstraps makes it an interesting proposition off the wind but, it was a totally different feel!

Did a flying run past a fishing boat near the boat ramp at 45 and all I heard was a fisherman go "What the f%ck???"...

Anyway Naz and I made it to 45, then turned around for a single run back to the Angling Club.  Got back there in about 15 minutes and then noticed Kato was sailing the Inlet mouth (gidgets) so I did a few runs up to the entrance.

Great day on the water

Wally

Great fun travelling down to meet up with Dan, but struggled as the wind picked up; walked on bits of the Inlet I had not seen before.
