Xcite Ride 120 Koncept 5.8 C3 Venom

SW 20kts with gusts

Dial said 2sec peak 30.35 and is saved as my new 2 sec peak on the GT31.  oh well.  I know I did it.  Broke a boom into 4 pieces

Great day but the speed strip is diabolical on low tide.  Need to get a weedie for the Xcite.  Had fun chasing Pete the Postman around.  Left the Kiters for dead.

Faaaarrrrk Yeeeeaaaah!!!! Absolutely pumped with my speeds today.  6 1/2 kt pbLaughingCoolLaughingCoolLaughingCoolLaughingCool!!!

Can't believe i havent been to SP on a SW before considering i live so closeTongue out.  Was really sore today after a massive SUP session yesterday.  First couple of runs felt really nice and comfy, and pulled easy 33's.  Quick break and a bite to eat and then the next 3 runs went 35.2, 34.9 & 35.99 - was super stoked then as my goal today was to get a 35 peak.

Another quick break for a drink, and came back to see spotty standing watching the sky and waiting for a squall.  Everybody basically lined up after him thinking something must be about to happen... well an awesome squall came through and just about everyone got a run on it.  I went last quite a bit after everyone else (glad i did as it turns out) it scared the crap out of me but man it was exciting going that quick.  At the bottom of the run things started getting a bit out of control... the image of Pete Johnston's face after his stack flashed in my head so I ditched everything and cartwheeled for a bit, a quick swim to retrieve my gear and then back to the  bank looked at the screen of my GPS and saw 39.46 on the screen!!!!! The adrenalin was pumping the whole walk back... i'd had a massive hit of the speed drugLaughing

Isonic 86 Slim, KA Kult 5.3 & KA Assy 24cm fin (thanks for the loan of the fin Pete)

5.4 118 techno.

Went out late in the day. Tide too low to run the speed strip so I hit my peak speed whilst negotiating the chop on the outer bank.

Finished with an amazing catapult!  A bit dazed after that one (anybody see it apart from George?). Went home early, with a bit of a headache...

Hey Doug, I can vouch for it, I saw a flash out of the corner of my eye at one stage. Realised it was you after noticing the red skid lid and xcite ride. Your getting way too fast!

With all the excitment about Dan's pb forgot to mention Dazza's stellar performance.  Well done Dazza J the 2 sec peak and 5 * 10 sec and very close so you must have been flying.

Nice Pbs guys, Dan was not sure who it was flying down well out from the bank on th KA kult. But was thinking yeah he's going pretty quick and that the sail was getting beyond it's design parameters after you passed. Good bailout you bounced a couple of times and your gear was well clear doing a couple of spins too. Keep at it on the kult it has 40 in it while you get sorted doing these speeds and having a bail here and there!

Well Done Dan, Great speed on the Kult.  Excellent dismount too, as I said it was a 9.5, a few more somersaults and twists required for a 10.Wink

Thanks everyone, still pretty pumped about it.  Looked at the google maps overlay and i still had quite a bit of the run to go when i hit my peak.  Must've been when i passed everyone on the bank and realised i was going quick Tongue out... ah well, next time i'll know what to expect and be able to hold onto it for a 40Laughing!!!

Great stuff Dan! - although when I lent you the fin I should have stipulated that you weren't to go faster than me with it! Tongue outYell

I also watched you go by looking well sorted, then saw your speccy dismount - double roll with enema thrown in for good measure! I waited nervously for a few moments hoping you hadn't face planted anything, but soon saw you swimming vigourously after your gear.

Well done Dazza also!
