Hard work today in the chop and gusty wind. I was trying for a 30kt 10 sec but just couldn't pull it off. Can't complainSmile.

Think I would be a bit quicker if I could stop my front foot pulling out of the straps. Played with boom height, mast base position and harness line position but still can't stop it happening. Might have to look at moving the front straps back to suit my short legs, just not sure I want to spend money on the old board.

84 Jp Slalom. 6.3 F8 Ram, 30 Choco weed.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

was a good session (if it was winter that is)

was nice and flat to start with but not quite windy enough there was a good run downwind from the sticks into the cove nice and flat but some scary bits of weed

as the tide came in it got rougher as well as getting windier untill the day ending sqaul complete with thunder lightning, heavy rain reducing visibility to about 20m and alot of wind

5.0 koncept, 76 isonic, 30 jp sl, 32cm pointer ? and 6 kg of lead for a short stint

was good to see a bunch of the team out

even if alot of them were going faster than me Undecided

see everyone tomorrow then for my 4th day of windsurfing in a row Laughing

not sure if my body will hold up i'm feeling pretty battered at the moment

Melville Beach, WA, AU Nice to use the 85 sonic again and my fave 5.7 Koncept, but never felt comfortable in the chop. After one catapult I decided I'd like to go home uninjured so I stayed away from bear aways today. Getting back to shore was an adventure requiring some creative move combinations to get downwind safely.

Good to catch up with so many Pinnaroos and see so many crew out.

Tested the new winter wetsuit and was warm and toasty all day without overheating.

A better winter front than we've had all winter.

Ahhh that's better SmileLaughingCool

Nearly 3 weeks since my last sesh and ages since I was powered up on anything smaller than an 8.5.

Got down to Melville @ 4.30 and it looked windy.  Ummed and ahhed and ended up on the F111 + 7.0 TR5 + 38 Sting.

Combo felt sweet and I got my 2 second peak on the first starboard tack bearaway.

Sat out most of that mental squall that descended around 5.30.  Tried one crazy overpowered run for a 33 10-second.

Then it backed off.  Changed up to the 7.6 TR7 and sailed til dark.  Prolly needn't have changed up, the 7.6 was pretty lit toward the end, but it was looking sketchy for a while there.

Heaps of fun.  More please Huey Kiss

Iso 76, 5.8 KA Koncept, 28 weedy. A good solid afternoon with reasonably consistent winds for a frontal system. Plenty of sailors out for a Monday.

Started on the Blade 7m and 122 (CF42) as the wind had not really filled in. My conclusion is that the 42 fin is more stable in the chop but lacks the earlier planing of the 46 drake and the big disappointment is that although it does go faster more easily there still seems to be a 30 knot barrier.

Came in quite hard after 20 mins so switched to the Lorch with a 30 Bandit fin. Did some tweaking to try and get it feeling balanced with some success.

Then forget the order but used the Sonic 100 with a 32 until I hit bottom and lost the back fin bolt (had fin bolt nightmare, why are none of my fins/ boards the same?).

Rigged the 5.7 as it was quite windy by this time. Used the Sonic with a 31 weedy(ok but not great). Lorch with the 26 Falcon (too small for the chop) and finally the b@#tard kinetic 27cm weedy. The 5.7, Sonic 100, 27 weedy was the only time I felt really comfortable all day.

Got some great runs in to the corner dodging big weed clumps. When all hell broke loose and called it a day.

The old girl (S100) is so much better in the chop it is unreal.

Well done team. and especially Grumpy and Ricey on the PBsCool

Hey Grumpy, well done on the PB.

I had exactly the same problem as you today. Front foot just wouldn't behave. I moved my front straps back to the middle, along with all the changes you made, marginally better. Might try full rear next.

I had the front foot coming out problem for the first time today (scary!) but lowering the boom and shortening the harness lines helped.

Just realised JJ was .08 off a PB. Definitely won the speed race for the early session. Only squeaked past with one late run.Wink

You were fearless going deep in to the corner. Glad you missed the weed!

Some top five numbers from Damo and Scarrgo too. Scarrgo it is time to experiment with a good smaller weedy so you can get in to the flat stuff then rig bigger.

Missed you Snakeyboy! Surely those new sails must be whispering "pick me" in your shell like!Innocent

i know loa, i've been keeping my eye out for anything to come up for sale but it looks like the only way i am going to get a small weedie is to make one.

it's a bit poor that no brands that i know of have a large range of weed fin sizes to accomodate for speed sailors
