Hardie (20239km): Hardies Run, WA, AU too old too fat too slow but boy did i enjoy myself
Decrepit (22059km): Yeeeeeharrgh, fastest I've been since march, had 3 34s on the dial, got a nice session just after hardie left for his morning appointment and before Tomski finished rigging. Wind picked up after a long lull and it was fairly smooth. After that it went a bit ballistic, too much excitement for this old fart!!!! Joined hardie for an early session at Len Howard Park, very variable wind but it was much more down than up. The 6.0 is still at Avalon Sail Co having a reshape, taking a bit off the head and adding some just above the boom. Should make it easier for my short light body to control. Could have done with it first thing, but I went with the 5.3 (still to be modified) on the 53 with the lockwood 23. That was good in the infrequent gusts but the rest of the time I was slogging. Of course after hardie left the wind picked up and I was in all sorts of trouble over boarded and over finned, changed to the 48cm with the 21,5 35deg. That felt much better!! And that's when I got the 3 34s on the dial, went in to tell tomski the 6.7 would be much to big, when I went out again the wind had lifted another notch or two, the chop had doubled and it was no longer as much fun, just scary! Had a few more runs to keep Tom company until hardie returned then called it a day.
Tomski (6938km): Mandurah, 6.0 & 5.6 CR, 76 Iso, 27 LE weedie & 23 Vector Delta Mixed start to today. Arrived to see very little wind Decrepit and Hardie Struggling a little, so rigged 6.7 and 6.0 as backup. As soon as 6.7 was connected to the board it picked up 8 knots. Rigged 5.6 and spent the day bouncing between the two. Hit a new PB for the LE 27. It out performed the 23 Delta.
Loads of fun and some scary moments. Arms aching, but a smile on my face. Got a week of work to recover.

Elmo (15665km): JP Slalom VI 65cm, NP RSS Mk IV 7.0m, Elmo/JP +10° 36cm Everybody was skiving of work and went sailing this morning some of us had to work (eh Bendyman), still there was a bit of wind around although not as good and as consistant as this morning. Went out to try and experiment with a pointer and re-familarize myself with them for set up, first run was a bit interesting and ankle snappy so quick mast base shift took of again and all was good. Was effectively heading out at about 70° to shore so blating straight out into the middle, was quite patchy but some nice squirts when the bullets hit. The session wasn't without my usual mayhem which people have come to know and love, thought I'd broken a harness line as something went "Pink" and i dropped dopwn a bit, made it back to shore and after close inspection could not find anything wrong, another bullet came in so I figured I'd be alright as it was on the return side. Found out when I was packing up that I'd broken my spreader bar. Also stopped in the shallows looked about 5m away and thought "jeeze thats a big clump of weed glad I didn't hit that" then the big clump of weed decided to swim of..... The Dolphins were out as well although they were nore interested in food today than playing A nice bit of fun
Bender (19030km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU CASP50, ReflexII 7.0m, 23cm Slingshot Quick blat between 4 and 5pm. Some very nice bullets but a bit square to really wind up. Glad to be back at GH's in the smooth flats. Had a 35.04 display. My NM was straight off the beach first run. |
