Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

Great sail at 45 today, pretty happy with 2 pb's to finish off the yearCool (assuming no wind tomorrow based on forecast)!!

98.88km is pretty frustrating though.... should've checked the GPS and done 1 more run so i got to wave the bat for the ton.

Stoked i finally got a 20+ 1hr, must've got my timing right, i was a bit concerned i misread the time on my watch.  Went in for a break and then went out chasing Kato around for a couple of NM attempts.  Needless to say i couldnt keep upUndecided at least it was a PB!  I've never sailed so deep off the wind for that long before, i guess that's what you have to do though!

Highlight of the day had to be Mick's walk of shame.... a down wind walk of shameSurprised!!!! Never seen one before... at least pretend to sail and float back to the launch, hahaTongue out.

Quick sail at 45 after dropping family at 44

Wind started 10,0,12,0 then came in nicely at 20 kts E

Good to catch up with the crew and even Kato made an appearance

Started off light winds, then built to 20-25 knots. Started out rigging longboard - didn't get wet - then a 6.5, then a 5.7, then a 5.0. Started off with a 110L X-Cite, ended with blasting on the Lorch 93L. Very choppy in places for the Inlet - even had some rollers! Thanks for your company, guys - great day.

LOCATION: AREA 45

WIND: ENE- 10-15 going E- 15-20

LOW TIDE

GEAR:  Starboard Super 12'6, KA KOYOTE 8.3.  Down to CA FR77, C3 venom40, KA Koyote 6.6 (2011)

DETAILS:  Great session at Area 45.  Wind light early so I jumped on the SUP but it soon filled in, allowing me  to drop down onto the FR77 and 6.6.

It wasnt as messy as it can get, mainly due to the low / slack tide.  It certainly got choppier once the tide turned and started coming in.

About 5 runs after I said to Pete I was going in, I had a nice hit on the sandbar which took the wind out of me and I then spent half an hour getting back to shore with a mix of drifting/floating/ getting pummelled.
