Nice to finaly get some decent wind!  Rigged 6.2 as the wind started, fell over on the rocks getting into the water then realised one cam wasnt on the mast so got out and fixed.  Fell over on the rocks getting back in. Got hammered by horizontal rain and 40knots so got out and rigged 5.6.  Went for one hour but was soooooo choppy, dropped heaps of gybes and had gear ripped out of my hands and had to swim after it, results pretty good though, very happy!!! Decided to go straight upwind and try for NM, had an awesome run but didnt make it due to horrible catapult that left me lying in the water for a few minutes testing the neck out after having it wrap around the boom. gave up and went and got the 4.7 wave and 85 Freestyle wave board and went loopy!  Wind droped and did another 60km on the slalom.  Have blister on one foot and no skin on the other. Good day but really difficult conditions!

So Nice to be back on the water again. There hasnt been much wind over the Xmas holiday period and this is the windiest (I think) it has been for quite a while. Got to Dorans and rigged the 6.2 because I just sold my 5.6 Relfex a couple of weeks ago. New Reflex 3 sails will be here any day. It was super windy and I knew it was going to be a struggle because the guys were coming in changing down to 4.7 sails. Did 4 or 5 runs and it was pure survival mode. Luckily the guy I sold my 5.6 to was there and he kindly let me use my old sail while he went for a 4.6. Went out with the Isonic 49/Slingshot 21cm and did my top speed. Then went out on the 2012 Isonic 87 with a 32cm Sting 2. Great fun day with so many out there.

What a day!!! Howling. Started with slalom gear and just got totally overpowered so changed to wave gear for about 3 hrs. After lunch the wind eased a bit so sailed the rest of the day with the slalom gear overpowered half the time but I was determined to get those km's in. Feel physically stuffed now but it was worth it.Cool

Well done Karen.  That is the furthest any woman has ever sailed in the history of the GPS TC!!  You are now in number one position for distance overall.  Fantastic effort.  Nice 5x10 PB as well.  Yesterdays effort has already put you in good contention for the womens title for 2012!!

Phenomenal endurance in those conditions Kazza, and nice speeds also. You're really throwing down the gauntlet in 2012, and scored yourself a jelly bean too, which isn't easy in that star studded team of yours!

Brilliant team, only 700km from Perth so we have done better than what we planed as we are only going to be on the road for two nights. So should be in Perth this Arvo :)

Kazza would love to come to Tassie again one day you sure have strong winds and some geat locations- (I used to live near Devenport when I was a kid, moved to Vic when I was 13 then QLD at 21 and haven't been back since).  My first every sailing experience was on a hire catamaran at Port Sorrell and Dad flipped it over!
