Fatmatt (1639km): Melville Beach, WA, AU New X15 Tushi 7M isonis 111 with 38cm fin then the F2SX 92. New X15 is definately more powerful than the old model the new adjustable harness lines kept lengthening as well so my already tired arms from the rotto swim kept the session rather short. Nauli looked focused on rigging his gear even had the tool box out must have turned a screw one turn too many and did a swim of his own with a brocken mast ,hope it was a borrowed one.Tomorrow looks good hope to see you all out there again.sorry about the mast Nauli you cranked off the beach hope you landed softly.
Darryl (9554km): Woodies, RRD V4 98, RIII 6.2, LE 28 weedy. Short sail, on the water @ 6 off by 6.30. Basically had the place to myself at the end. The breeze was dropping but I was keen to try out the 6.2, 98 combo. This gear is so comfortable, I was a little concerned the sharper rails might catch, but managed to spin out a few times and it all can back in line nicely.
wog (5783km): Melville Beach, WA, AU a solid fang with Matt on the iso86 with the CR 6 tryed my Starb w49 but it was a bit patchy to get it locked in
Annie (6911km): 6M T4 & 84Lt Exocet Cross & FW Weedie WOW - two powered up days in a row - I'm soooo tired Probably the best after work sail all season (that I can remember anyway)
Nelson (14146km): Exocet Cross 94L PE with 6.4 KA Koncept & 34cm EX Vector Spent the whole session getting everything adjusted, it's been so long since I have used this sail & rigged on a fat mast. At the end of the session the board trim was good, harness lines were right and the wind had died Still a nice after work session, few & far between this season.
Nauli, remind me again why I should be using Reflex III sails
Nauli (8194km): An interesting and frustrating session in two distinct parts...all the speeds posted are from part 2. So in summary: Part 1: 7.0 Reflex III; RRD X-F 90; Vector Delta 27....for a total of about 1.3 NM before the (new) mast snapped...so long swim and walk to shore at Attadale (Troy Park)...big thanks to the guy who stopped in the water to assist and went back to shore to get me a lift back (sorry I didn't get your name, but huge thanks)...and also to Nilss who was my saviour taxi service...thanks so much mate...really appreciated. Oh yeah and a bloody sore back from swimming and walking the fractured rig to shore.... No comment further until I've discussed the mast and sail issues with the manufacturer.... hopefully it will be be resolved. Part 2: Got back to the carpark and there was still some breeze so I rigged the Reflex EW 6.2 and used the same board combo as above and whilst it was a bit underpowered for my weight I did manage to hook up a couple of little bullets, so that made it worthwhile. A few of the team out too....some earlier, some later... |
