Pelican Point, WA, AU

My pre planned arvo was a success. Wind was a little late arriving, was at PP at 1.30 but didn't get wet until 2.30. 1st in with Claude rigging.

Had some great early runs on a very smooth river, not very often i see it like that. Then as the wind built needed a few tweaks to drop the power. Then it got a bit crazy but couldn't be bothered dropping a sail size due to time restraints. Kids crazytime was waiting for me so perservered with a fin change for a few runs. Definitely a few knots faster with the Choco, much freeerer. A 38 would be nice.

Quick chat with Mr Snides while admiring his evil little weapon (his board), something i'd use to remove splinters with i think.

Nice day out with a couple of the boys gusty with a few bullets. Lucky if you could time it right

Found a sharp rock with the arch in my foot so Im out for the week with a 3cm punture wound but hey it was worth it

A very quick sail very late in the day (the desperation of missing out Fri, Sat and Sun). Able to catch a few gusts and happy with the results. Only the second sail with the 6.6 and it felt fantastic.

I was able to get away from work early today. That part of the plan worked out beautifully. The second part of the plan was to try out a new place to launch. That part was not so good. I had hoped to sail from a little beach in Dalkeith to Melville beach. That would save me a half an hour drive around the river. It looked very windy so I chose a small fin and applied lots of downhaul. That may be good for downwind runs but I struggled to get upwind. Because of this, and the chop, and the windholes and my average technique, I never got to Melville beach in fact. I did however have the audacity to land on a kiters beach (to adjust my harness lines), and this apparently upset one of the kiters to such an extend that on my way out he tried to cut off my head with his lines while angrily yelling at me. Definitely uncool.

So it was a bit of an average session, but I learned a few things, so time was well spent.

Just realised Baldy stole my alpha jelly bean. I was about to chuck a tantrum until I saw I'd claimed a 2sec jelly bean to replace it.

Hey Baldy, in all my whinging I forgot to congratulate you. With only 2 days to go before the end of month you've contributed the hr, alpha and km results. A fantastic effort given your limited TOW recently.

ha ha, makes a change for you to be whinging and not me. Smile

Yeah, i've managed more TOW over the last 2 months than in most of last year i think. Hopefully i can keep it up.

I never follow the jelly beans, but that's great to be a contributor and glad to have stolen one of yours. Bwaha hahaha

I had 3 top 5 cats yesterday, which was surprising considering how over powered i was for half the session. Missed NM PB by 0.3 of a knot. LOL

Hope Mr Trouttys foot heals well, don't like to see injured Wannabees. Nice team turnout. Cool

Great work guys on getting TOW and good speeds too.
