The monkey balls got a very good licking tonight
Got down there to see a nice load of white caps, saw Hardz walking back, rigged up watched the wind drop went out on the speed board got going but trying to keep going was a pain, came back chucked on the 65cm went back out the wind faded more, went back in to throw in the towel.
Found Hardz back rigging up again, the wind looked like it was picking up again so against my better judgement I went out again, as soon as I hit the water the wind backed of again, eventually the chuggfest got going did 2 short runs then flagged it.
In reality could have sailed either the 8.6 or the 9.5 tonight.
Now how do you get the taste of monkey out of your mouth?

Had BIG expectations for today......oh how unimpressed. At least it fits into the rest of the summer. Good to sail the beaver with Mike & Slugger. I think he actually liked it. Good crew there. Half the pinna's, few of the Swanies. Good to meet Ricey.

GREAT CORNER SIMON!!!!!!!!
I had a couple of half hearted attempts, should have got a bit more serious.
Really enjoyed my first beaver experience. Great place for trying stuff out, no long mud crawls with armies of crabs. Just an easy sail back to the rigging area.
Wind was light early afternoon so went with the avi 6.0, 53cm and 23.5 lockwood. only getting the occasional 31.Wwind was slowly increasing, gambled on the forecast being right for 1600hrs. put the 5.3 on the 48 and tried my 19.5 45deg fin for the first time, wind was never really strong enough for it, think it will go well in the new 43, when I get round to building it, with the 4.7.
Had one last run with the 20.5 30deg, when Tom tried the Mandurah Mob secret weapon, looked like he was going well on it.

RRD x-fires 122&102, 8.5m OD.
Rocked up and it was a crap 12knt westerly but being desperate as today is my only chance and with the weekend forecarst looking bleak i rigged the big kit. As i hit the water it swung southerly at about 25+knts. After 20mins of barely being able to sheet in and lots of tail walking i came in and plugged the 102 into the 8.5m. The 8.5m is a bit big for the 102 but it was managble in the strong winds compared to the 122. It then started getting very holey and i called it quits.
Skunked yet again Bring on SUP'ing season
