ray gun (5342km): Pelican Point, Usual combo, 111, 7.5, 42 After picking up new board bag for most loved piece of gear, to replace old and tired one headed to the river(in hindsight should have saved my cookies) After chating to Sccargo for a while breeze suddenly came good, rigged and was off, woohoo...... Good wind and just starting to get into it, when in middle of river boom started to feel a bit funny, sort of soft all of a sudden, looked at front end all seemed good there then noticed bulge about 5 inches down had time enough to think oh oh and then snap, boom fell apart in hands and in the drink. end of 2nd most loved piece of gear Had to swim like buggery just so I didn't miss the point then long walk back. absolutely knackered by time I was back to Peli Thanks Troutty for the lend of back up boom but stuffed after that.Disappointed that need new boom but more so that missed a great day on the water, if I wanted a swim would have just gone to the pool | ||||||||||||||||||

brabo (2010km): Pelican Point, WA, AU, iSo111, Reflex7.8, Cf42 I gave the Pelican Point twilight slalom a go this time. Due to work travels and lack off wind this was the first time I participated this season. I was mostly trying to avoid finishing last, and was not always succesful at that. Still, it was good fun and it is a great way to learn fast. Thanks to WWA and Windforce for organizing these series again this season. |
