Long distance day in Avon. First half with V8 8.5/Warp 71, then Hawk 95/Koncept 5.8. Got way too choppy in the afternoon.

5.5 Naish Edge on Starboard Carve 99 all day - 3 short sessions - at Buxton side off shore going fast with Larry, Tom and Pam. At 4 PM the 5.5 was way too big for the gust and too small for the lulls. The Canadian Hole was the place to be in the afternoon. Stopped by to watch tricksters doing "funnels" on 4.0 or 4.7 sails and 80 to 100 liter boards. No 1 hour # today. Too weak to sail for an hour without stopping, I guess.

Record distance attempt abandoned due to lack of wind in the AM. Sailed the biggest gear I own, underpowered until the SW filed in in the afternoon. Jumped on the Manta 59 with as TR7 5.9 and sailed it until dark (and then some). Perfect day overall for all the new arrivals down here in Cape Hatteras. Fun day on the water (sailing 218 miles) with energy to spare for the distance record, still waiting for the right day.

Well done guys, great to see more having a crack at distance. Make sure that you use a few gps,s for any attempts,as they can stuff up and you don,t want the "No data" sign after 24hrs on the water. Dean what are you using for light at night???
