Wind took its time filling in,finally. Couldn't decide what to rig! Ended up on the Fanatic Hawk 93 Ltd. with the 6.0 GTX 10.5 Finworks weedy. Some nicely powered runs that felt fast.Ended up switching to the SL79 and 27 Vector weed speed, hoping for some more speed. Had one awesome bearaway and fin skipped out on some chop and blew out the middle panel on the 6.0, when I went over the front. SurprisedFun sailing back upwind with half a sail(not!)Oh well, the sail is getting old.

Sailed with Peter B, Chris, Bill and Anton. and Bruce made a showing too. Good on ya! Wind got a bit light at about 4.00, and the rain killed it, or maybe it was Matt K the Jinx? Just Kidding! Fun day with a good direction, but in hindsight a 6.5 was probably the go.

Nice sail with Mark at Queens Lake. Fairly light at first but came in nicely from the SSW with gusts to 18 knots. Mark got me today on 2 second , so well done. Hopefully windy tomorrow for four days in a row.

F2 sx medium, Gaastra 7.0m Gtx race, Jp 31 cm weedy.

Queens Lake, NSW, AU

HMAS Fanatic 113, 7.8m RS:S, 38cm Weedy. Mark and Steve packing up as I got there at 230.

0-15kn S/SW and gusty as a Mo.Fo. glass and sinking to knees through to planning in straps.

That was the flattest water I have ever sailed in my 26 years of windsurfing (mind u I am usually in the ocean). I was never over powered, just nicely powered up enough to have my 92kg ass planning and using both straps. It is amazing how fast flat water sailing can be, .....my first run I thought would have been mid 20s as the water was so flat and the sail so controled that it felt slow........the run was easy....but it was a 30.6! Everytime I have done a 30kn run in the past I have been a bit out of control cos of the chop at Queens can be sizey.

Will be back tomorrow at the same spot - thanks for filling me in on where the run was Mark, what an awesome arvo. Damn that mud bank is shallow. Was lining up what was going to be a killer run on the flat in a gust of about 18kn (the only one i saw this arvo) and I hit a real shallow patch and went over the handle bars. Will pack a smaller fin tomorrow, 38cm dragging a bit too much through the weed and mud over the eastern side

GPS has done 2 files. does it every sail. Had to adjust 5 x 10 and distance (klm). MArk I might get you to have a look at my gps tomorrow and see if you can see anything wrong with my set up.....pretty please

Great day sailing - close but still can't crack the 30kt barrier. Hope you keep the sail together today Gabe and you are not 'cloudy bayed" out.

Awesome   PB'S ADAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!

See Adam, I told you that you would get some PB's if you went right over to the speed run! Where you hit bottom was on the Mud Bank. Sail further East in the channel with the bigger fins.  I will have a look at your GPS for you Adam. I will send you a email with how the settings should be. You can check it is set-up right. Smile

Great Results Adam and Peter.Congrats on the PBs!!! well done. Mark H good speeds mate! Overall team speeds are great. Good results everyone.

I'll try to spend more time on water tomorrow with the right gear.A bit under finned and powered yesterday.

Yes Peter, I thought I might have a bit of a "Cloudy Bay red " head this morning, but I'm feeling pretty good, despite the plying of various wines last night.

Thanks Mark J and Larko. I can see now why everyone hunts the cleanest flattest water - would love to get back on the mud bank on a real windy day to see how far the 113 can be pushed

Larko, would be good to have a joint Cockroach/Marauders sesh. Let me know when you are up mate. Looking fwd to some more rigging tution now she is fully stretched in Wink
