Foreshore Rd, Botany, NSW, AU WNW - W 18 -25 with some 30 knot gusts.

Great day on the water, great turn out alos.  Pretty choppy really, with some rollers comingin the bay - so not super super flat.

Rics smash into the bouy rope was a highlight for those watching!

JP Slalom V 92/JP SS 118. NP RSR 6.2/NP Hellcat 5.7 - 34C3/32JP fins

Best speed was on the Slalom V 92/Hellcat 5.7/JP32 fin.

Great to be out, buggered now but off to the Rugby! Yehaaaaaaaa

Awesome sail in the end with lots of the gang. So good to be out amongst it. Bit over done at the beginning, but settled in as the wind backed off a tad. Even tried a borrowed GoPro on the boom today. Can't wait to see the footage. Three cheers for Boss Man paddling out and cutting the buoy rope,…what an effort. Impressive!Cool

Gusty Westerly at Foreshore Rd, Botany.

Good to see so many people out on small boards and big sailis... Nice to get a few new PB's... easier as I'm getting the board and sail under better control. Sailing much more comfortably.

25-35 kts. The second wind was a bit lighter as it turned WNW.

Beautiful winters day. Felt good!

Narrabeen Lake, NSW, AU

Had another gear failure whilst rigging up at Foreshore so thought someone was telling me to give it a miss, get it sorted and be ready for the trip to SP in a few weeks. It was made up for though by some foreign girl taking her top off and giving me and Chris Ting a big eyeful of lovely jubblies!!

Went down to WSnS and fixed my batton, picked up my new Darth Vader Gath, got a couple of other things and headed off to Lake Dangerous. Rigged the 5.8 which was too small in the lulls but too big in the gusts. Ah well, westerlies....what can you do!

Still nice to get wet, the new booties did the trick but created a couple of hairy times when I went to gybe and I was stuck in the straps.

Good to see so many pb's from people today and I wish I could have been there to see Rick lose it on the marker buoy Tongue out

I absolutely LOVE it! It never let go on a speed bearaway, nice and sure footed. When it did let go, not fully powered and pointing up wind, it was the kindest spin ever. The tail slid out one foot, but not with a bang, just a mushy "You're pushing too hard". It was so easy to get back - sheet out, duck down a bit and yank your feet back under. I highly reccomend this fin! It's the 17cm slalom delta fin, not the speed. I wanted a bit more drive at the expense of speed - I think it's faster than I'll ever be anyway...

Michael - great feedback on the Delta Slalom. Have you used bigger sizes in the same fin with bigger kit (boards and sails), and if so is the outcome similar? Would love to know how they fair in really choppy water. Smoking speed by the way too!

As usual - well done leo on keeping the dial at "11"

AJEaster - I don't think the MUF Delta's would be any good for choppy water. They're designed for smooth, shallow water, whish they excel at. I've only used the 17cm Delta, and this was the first time, so I can't comment on larger sizes. I've heard that the 15cm speed version gots a bit twitchy at speed, which is why I went for the beefier 17cm slalom model. Davmen has the 20cm freeride model which he also rates highly and said it's better in smoother Illawarra than slightly choppier Canton.

The crazy 55 degree leading edge is a huge bonus for thick weed. I sailed right over thick clumps of surface weed at moderate and full speed with just the slightest tug on the board - no danger of a catastrophic catapault.

The MUF Deltas are brilliant for what they're designed for, but unless you're in shallow water or crazy weed, there may be better fins out there. The W.A. boys would know more about weedies...

Thanks Michael - good info. We have a real shallow mudbank at Queens Lake that has this crazy weed and gets smooth water as a result. Have sailed it with a 30cm FO weedy and mostly get lucky, but last session I went over the handlebars a few times, so it does cause some hesitation........these stubby buggers could be a go.  Only issue is there is about 1klm or so of choppy water between the launch spot and the mudbank's flat water (hense my Q). Will get a couple and give them a go - I can handle spin out world on the way over if I can sail over the bank without fear or hesitation. Cheers, Adam
