Mike Nelson (2186km): finally broke my recent 30kn hoodoo - my kingdom for a slalom board, 6.2RSR and a fin with something more than 5 deg rake!! great day again - amazing to see so many people out - good to post for the new team finally 6.2 alpha, 101 futura with 34 drake freeride fin Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU oh...and cracked 1000km sailed (with a gps)....so proud
TERRY (5144km): Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU An invasion of Roaches, Busters, Pits and Speedsters at Primbee. Wind blowing all day. Leo sailing from sunrise to sunset. Care park full. Good scores when everyone posts. Naish supercross 96l, Loft 5.3 freeride. Do Pensioners get a discount on Speed boards.
jdemol (1106km): Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU Chopped board with np V8 6.0. Also sailed on Mflow 95 with ezzy wave but didn't have gps cause Mark was using it.
bushfire (6668km): Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU. Primbee (where else!) Westerly, gust up to 30 knots. A great day at the lake, with the wind best early in the day and then late in the day (too tired to take full advantage of the late blow) Probably had 20 windsurfers out and still plenty of room on the water and in the car park! One board, one sail and two fins all day. A bit underpowered in the middle of the day, but the Severne 5.6 sail has very good low end power to cope with the lighter winds. Great to compare the MU delta slalom 17.6 fin with the Vector speed weed 23 (thanks for the loan Gary) - really impressed with the grip and speed of the Vector, and has some reasonable upwind ability. The MU delta is better at getting the speed board started - doesn't drag weed and has a bit more lift, but is more sensitive to sailing style. My top 2 sec on the Mu delta was 36.3 knots, so there doesn't seem to be much difference in speed between the fins. I think I'll have to get the Vector.....) Good to see Mark T and Nathan B cutting up the water.

mdemol (446km): Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU Nice to get out again. Had lots of fun on the chopped board, it is actually quite a good boad. 6m sail was probably a bit on the small side for the wind we had.
TEX (884km): Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU Had a great sale today, short but sweet, great to sail with everyone.
Eckas (1583km): Primbee, Lake Illawarra. Hypersonic 105l, select XXL weedy, 6.6 Gaastra Nitro 4. Lake looking fantastic - quite a crowd as well. Unfortunately came a cropper early and smashed my right quad on the mast. Continued sailing but really could put any force through it for the rest of the day which was a real bummer. Hanging for a smaller board for these westerlies!!! |
