Nelson (14146km): Firestorm 120L with 7.5M T-bird & 44 cm fin, early morning session. Exocet Cross 94L with 6.0 & 6.5M T-birds & 34cm Vector EX, afternoon session The kit seemed perfect today, only dropped 2 gybes all day, out in the rough stuff. Probably the best days sailing I've had in the last 3 seasons Really looking forward to this summer.
Annie (6911km): 6M T4 & 94 Lt Cross & FW Weedie Numbers say it all really I hung around in a towel in the freezing cold thinking the wind would build - saw Nelson pumping so decided to get dressed & warm. Of course then the wind kicked in & the thought of a wet wettie, YUK . So I just sat & watched the others have fun
Borgy (7359km): Futura 101 & 122 with 6.4m Lightning, 38 and 44 CF Cold blustery day. Not very comfortable on the small board and sail, as its been at least 8 months since I last used them. Good to spend the day on the beach anyway. Watched the captain chasing the wind and saw COL's big stack and attempted ankle amputation!
Shane O'Neill (5431km): Melville Beach, WA, AU
Great slalom racing conditions today. Did about 30 laps around the posts with Pete Mac until I had no strength left in my legs. Isonic 87 just flew over the chop although I had one pretty bad landing and I think my ankle is going to be very sore tomorrow.
Isonic 87, Reflex 6.3, Tectonics GW 32 |
