Epic session, broke the 28 knot (28.11 max) barrier and smashed my last PB!

Great to get on a Formula Board after 4 or so years. I managed to finally get one over this summer after a long time considering it, and had decided to get a smaller formula rig to give a good higher windrange, yet still the capability to plane in 10knots,  picking up an older starboard and Tush for not much. The setup works well but the mast is an old pryde CK75 with an IMCS of 30 which is too stiff for the sail, giving it a small belly and tight leech. Wind was pretty good today for Formula but it did take me some time to get used to the gear, upwind was very hard work indeed and a fantastic workout on the arms but downwind I felt as though I could take a lot more wind on this 9m. Felt unusual being on a vast rig whilst others were crusing around on 5m wavesails.  Overall Sailed very conservatively and did not really try any solid downwind sailing at the south end of the lake where the wind was best, but with a bit of tuning, a soft mast and possibly a better fin than this basic one,  this kit will go over 30 knots for sure. Totally made up with this session, and looking forward to the next one.

Good to see Simon Hinkley posting some good speeds on a Falcon - Nice one :-)

First 34+ run was good, followed it with 4 nice wipeouts at 33+knots and realised I was a bit tired.

A selfish idiot (where I say idiot I mean something far more offensive but there are children about) ruined 2 of my runs for alphas, both of which were mid nmi! I will start wearing my helmet if it keeps happening and just close my eyes.

Scotty, you left before the water flattened out, so to get PBs is a huge achievement! The big guy with the simmer and shorts over his wetsuit was getting 28/29 through that chop and he weighs about 3 of you......
