Queens Lake, NSW, AU The tale of two days! Started off a lush, warm 15 knot s-easter, great fun, very steady breeze and got to get a much better feel for the straps, harness and new sail. Even had some great success with my L plate gybes, pulling off 90 percent, so amazed with that. Then a few clouds drifted in, then the wind picked up a tad, and before I knew it, it's blowing 30 knots plus! Farkkk, no more gybe practice, just pure survival runs. Water starts with feet already in the straps, and a few throws over the handlebars. Great seshion though, learnt heaps and coundn't get enough of the bath warm water. Sadly I was the only one out. Stoked with a near full house of PBsSmile

Persisted with the JP 101 FSW and 6 mtr Hot Sail Speed Demon. Love this sail,  though I was a tad overpowered!!!Surprised

Sailing Club, Wallis Lake, NSW, AU. Got there for a late arvo sail.Wind was way out wide and nearly didn't bother, but I talked myself into a quickie. Most guys started on 5.0's and said it was getting a bit savage and strong, and some  rigged down.Pete, Aza, Andre, Bill, Anton and Irish Tom were on water. Wind was straight south when I rigged with a bit of SSEand SSW at 20-30 with some 35k gusts thrown in.Pretty challenging stuff.

Fanatic Hawk 93 LTD.Curtis 26.5 wave fin and Gaastra Poison 4.7 for some air time and a few bearaways in the semi flat bits.I was maxed out and could have easily used the 4.2 by the time I came in. Will be heading off to Sandy Point on Wed. for our first sail on Sat. See you later!!

Wallis Lake, NSW, AU Very gusty, a 3.4 sail would have been a better choice.

Hey Adam,

Thanks mate, some of the pieces are all starting to fall into place! You would have been flying in that wind today- especially over the mud flat. Look lush over there ( dead flat through my binos) but I simply couldn't work my way over. Probably a good thing considering the run back with the wind! Next trip I'm following you guys to the flats! Gotta get to 30 knots!

Hey Mark, thanks man. Starting to get some feel and comfort now. Just need more time on water and a few more vital pieces will fall into place.  I'm truely amazed at the speeds you guys consistently do, hats of to you all!  I'm slowly trying to catch up!..lol

Cheers Gabe and DionSmile. Had a ball, best sail (on flat water) I think I've had., just felt confortable and in control- to a point... I'll be stoked though when I see 30 knots appear on the GPS. Must be gettin' close....Yell...lol

Dion, wished you and Mark J did pop over, it was pretty well nukin'- the strongest I've seen it there. But not overly rough, only 1 ft bumps near the middle. The south east corner looked amazing. You guys would have slayed it. I just couldn't  seem to tack my way over.  HEAPS more to learn yet....

Well done Phil on more PB's, when you get some flat water just head off the wind with a gust and you'll get 30, not far from it now  Great average Mick, well done

Great to see you part of the team Anton, looking forward to seeing lots of PB's.

Have fun to everyone sailing at sandy point for the next couple of weeks.

Mark and Dions tour of adventure , had this great idea wind blowing 30 knots plus so load the trailer , bucketing down rain , 1 hours drive to old bar speed spot , high tide wind southerly gusting to 12 knots rough and no potential for speed , off we go Harrington had to be good , another 1/2 hour get to the river no where to sail wind wrong direction so head out the the speed bar , guess what entrance has moved 500 m to the south right in the middle of the sand bar , so cold look at jumping off the rocks but no way of getting back , wind is consistent 30 knots nearly blows me off the breakwall , water is flat but what can we do just look and wonder if thsi was the day , get back in the car turn the heater on and head home all the wind and no access .

Brilliant start to the GPS team challenge Anton.Good effort!!Trust you can sort Matt's Old Yellow board. I'm sure It would be worth the effort to repair. Good luck.

Mark J and Dion, those spots look tempting.A pity about the access. There must be a way! I've wondered how Harrington and the Manning river mouth might be for flat water. I was interested to check out Mud Bishops too on a Noreaster.Have to have a look. Lately the strong winds have made it hard to find flat water where we are.Either the tides wrong or the direction. Frustrating!

In the meantime, thanks everyone for the best wishes. We're really looking forward to getting to Sandy Point for that magic flat water and wind. Aiming to better our PB's down there. Safe travels Pete, Adam and Nicole.See you there! Wink

Gee Anton, only been sailing over a year, and almost on 30kn! and you are also still a jnr burger! well done!

Mark and Dion, sounds like a frustrating roady - maybe a boat launch from the river and run her up on the sandbar - would be a bastard rigging in that direct wind tho on the sand but imagine the runs with all that wind just behind the sand - a big version of the MJ Speed run back home

Safe travels Gabe, Chris, Pete. Nicole and I are leaving at 4am Friday. Forecast is a nice ease in for the fortnight - Saturday: SW 15-20kn. Hope it happens
