hoppy (4588km): Stansbury, SA, AU SW 10-15knots
sputnik, np saber6.2, 30 weedy
10 - 15knots was looking good today after 2 week wind drought so called Tricky and headed off to Stansbury. Tide was right for cruising on the spit and settled in for half an hour before Tricky arrived. Was hoping for some 20knots but perhaps 17 was about it. Tricky's combo was working a treat and was killing me on the beat and reaching and off the wind. . Was today almost a sea breeze! I think not. Anyway a good sail.
Tricky (3458km): Stansbury CA80 36 Lessacher Weedie 7.9 KA Race. First outing with the KA Race its the bigest sail I have ever owned! Riggs different to the Koncept, I will neeed a bit of time to tune in, But wow does it have some low win grunt. Great Sail with Jeff blew out the cobwebs as it has been ages sinec the last sail, good training session for summer! Tide was a bit to hight today leaving the water a bit choppy, no flat spots to get any decent speed
Sam Doecke (16626km): Had a good afternoon sesh with Carl, Leon and Shane. Was a great ride. All except for the fact Carl beat me again. About the fifth time in a row:-( he's getting too fast or i'm slowing down. Not sure. Well done Carl:-)). Gear used - Fanatic falcon 95, 6m Hot sail gps and 33cm sl7.
Carl Macdonald (18593km): Excellent arvo sesh after work at Boggy Lake. Wind started out SW 20 - 25 knots while rigging and dropped back to 15 - 20 by the time we hit the water. Most consistent and best sw wind this year at Boggy lake. Had some great drag racing with Sam like the old days. Happy with Nautical with gybe. Pretty flat water in the middle and on both ends for gybing. Just a little short of a mile. I am really starting to dial in the Hot Sail Maui Gps 6.0 and am very impressed with wind range and speed across the wind and off the wind (can't wait to get the new model 7.3). Also very impressed with the Black Project R325 - was concerned when i changed from Select fins i had ridden for several years and very fond of and seem to have found something better. Great way to finish the working week. Isonic 86 / '12 Hot Sail Gps 6.0m / R325 Black Project fin. Boggy lake - SW 15 - 20 knots. |
