Peel Inlet Hardies - 08 F2 SXS, 30 Tectonics Falcon, 2013 KA Race 6.3. Bit of a seesion to tune up the new 6.3. Was all going well getting faster each run as I tweaked the gear till I hit a small patch of weed at about 36 knots - over the front hooked in - thank goodness the harness line broke rather than the X9 boom. Good tune up hit out for Shark Bay week early December!

Wow - it didn't feel as windy as what the graph says! I guess that's what you get for sailing at gusty Melville. Nice to be out in a seabreeze anyway, and there plenty of people there to enjoy it.

Melville. Nice to see some 25kt gusts in a seabreeze! Started on the Speed 95 with a 24 asy, and got some wicked squirts for the amount of wind. Was pretty buggered after 100ks or so on the speed board, but then got conned into some slalom runs with voltmeter and jesper, so changed up to the 112 with 36 CL fin. Did a couple of long runs (almost 3km) but couldnt hang on by the end so decided to stop. Then Jacqui gave us a beer to recharge and the wind seemed to get a bit stronger so I went back out for some more runs with steve and pv. Got a 38.5 on the big board on the way out. Then did my fastest NM going not much off the wind on the edge in a big gust neck and neck with pete. Then did my fastest alpha for the day (just above an earlier one on the speed board). So it was worthwhile putting the big board on to round out some numbers. Stoked. This summer is going to be real fast at Melville :)

Got sucked in a second sunday in a row by the forecast, heading down early to Peli (10am), hoping to get some k's on the clock. Initially rigged the 7.0 Reflex, too gusty for that, so came in and rigged the 7.8 and IS107. Went back out to find the wind had picked up 5+ knots and boat traffic had increased 3 fold. Only had the one run out and back but let's just say the run back home was invigorating and stimulating ......and with all the lumps in the middle, a bmx bike was more appropriate.

headed back out on the 7.0 and IS86 and had a great time, albeit hard work at times with the lumps and bumps, managed to hook into some good gusts and flatter pacthes along the way. unfortunately the last half hour was the best and had to pack it in by then as things started to improve.

have to say i'm  pleased with the peak given the off road conditions. thought i was going reasonably quick at times but happy with a +33knots in only my 3rd sail so far this season.

IS86 Reflex 7.0 vector 32 (performed really well in the lumpy stuff at speed) then 107 Reflex 7.8 FO 40, then back to 86
