im just glad to be in one piece eyestack :) it was not easy out there, a real challenge heading upwind to get to the run. bigger numbers than mine on the way but there was a price paid for the glory

And of course, speedy revovery John...helmet definitely...I bought one after my 6 stitches in the head post Wally crash a few years ago.

Thanks for the update John, I injured my ribs acouple of times and modified my bouyancy vest with rib protection. Saved me for sure in February.

cheers guys. About time WA got some epic conditions. Looking at my tracks the run is actually quite short in that wind direction. Was hitting max speed about 200m from turning the corner, with another 50-100m before the run ends when it gets too broad due to the curved bank, and the gusts dont last that long. So top speed is limited by accelleration, and running out of runway... You can keep going but if theres wind on the good part of the run, there almost certainly isnt by the time you go another 100m. I sailed into a 12kt lull at 47kts on one run... very strange experience indeed. Lucky not to crash.

WELL DONE JOHN, DONE WITH SUCH EFFICENCY TOO...  you sailed for about the same time as me but i appear to have done twice as many k's it really draining conditions... perhaps walking back to the run was the smarter move...

Out of hospital and on the mend ,looking at 6 weeks on the side lines,plenty of time to buy a gath hat and impact vest !
