Quick trip to Boggy.  Thought I would check out the demo Patriks but didn't have time as I promised to bathe the offspring.

Tried a few DH settings and went back to my heavy setting.  I just can't get any power near the reccommended downhaul :(

Boggy, 15-20

Beachport Hotel Summer of Speed.

Lake george from the spit, Se 20 to 30.

F2 missile, KA Koncept 5.8, 24 choco weedy then onto Jp 92 freestle wave with 4.2 ezzy wave.

got there at 2 as a mate came into work at 1 for me so that was good,

9 Demons on the water today and lots of visiting team members too, around 20 out.

wind was good today but weed beds still neeed a bit so sailed of the spit, only ventured over to the middle lake to put some streamers on a dropper where the rocks are near the island.

used the 5.8 today as am always a pussy and rig a bit small, it handled it easy but at the end was a bit nervous so just went out on the wave gear and done a few gybes and played around.

had a good nautical first up and then did one more to show Daffy the way.

plenty of over 40's going down today but not for me, I'll wait till a bit more flatter , must be getting bloody fussy.

Received a cuople of booms from hydrodynamics for prizes from Hardie so that is fantastic.

Also got Danny signed up for the team sure is easy when Hardy is here.

A quick blat with the young boys who invited me down to sail with them, Greg Paul & Simon, was a blast Simon has quite a turn of speed.

Stansbury 15-20 SSE, Kinectic 57, Koncept 6.6, LE 30 Weedie. Was rougher that yesterday & maybe a tad windier in the gusts, just seemed harder work. Getting the fitness up Lifes GoodSmile Did spend too much time talking to the boys on the water, a nice social sail

Hardest day ever had on speed board but alot of funSmile.  Another day road trip with Sam.  Up at 4am got to Sam's place by 5.30 and arrived at Beachport by 9am.  Not alot of wind but gave us time to catch up with the SA boys, Gaz from FNQ, Hardie from Mandurah Mob and some blow-ins from Vic - i think they maybe regular blow-insWink.  Good to put some names to facesSmile.  We decided to launch from the spit and the others headed up the top near cockies point and launched from 5 mile drift and by the sound of it found some flat water and a nautical mile run.  We fannied around for a while - well i rigged and it was Sams turn this time to fanny around - we make old woman look fast at doing thingsWink

On the water with 6m Hotsails Gps, Isonic 50 and 24cm choco weedspeed.  1st run 39.6 on the screenSmile.  After this found it hard to generate pace.  Others soon had 40 knots and it took a while and i managed a 40 knot screen.  It was very hard work heading up wind in the chop to try and get in a good spot to head down the speed run at the spit.  Most guys on 5.0, 5.5's or 5.8's so i was happy to hold onto 6m but at times was either fully loaded or underdone.  Can't wait to get my 5.5Smile.   Another great road trip Sam and well done on some great speedsSmile.

Alot of 40's coming out of today and well done on some great speeds for a hard choppy day - BRING ON THE WEED AND FLAT WATERSmileCool......

Anyway 2am now and i have to work in 6 hours time so off to bed.

Lake George 20 - 30 knots.

Nice sail at Lake George but shit Im so unfit was nackerd from the day before.Ive only sailed a few times since march last year.Got to the mistral 47.Took me a while to get it tune but when I did it was fantastic. The ride was so smooth ,cant wait to get on it again.Could have done with some more sail running down the spit just keep running out of wind.Great to catch up with everyone again and nice to see so many out there.HopefullyI'll be a bit fitter next time.

Session 1 - 06-01-13 Lake George-S 14-30 knots-Mistral 68 wide-Loft Blade 7m-Lessacher Duo Weed 32cm

Early'ish start, thought I'd cruise around. Saw a few fly-ins start arriving at 5 mile drift. Wind starting to fill in and 7m started to feel the big end of town.

Session 2 - Wind kicked in some so drove the Fanatic Slalom 89 around a few laps with 5.3m Loft Blade and Lessacher Duo Weed 28cm

Stuffed pretty quickly so sat around watched the big boys do their stuff, sitting on Jamies trailer, was like a grandstand seat, pretty impressive to see people doing around 40 knots.

Great day, still plenty of water in both lakes, cruising easily through both little islands. Water around  just north of Cockey's Point was impressively flat.

Lake George, SA, AU

Late morning sail on 6m Gaastra Vapor and ISonic94 until the wind was far too strong.

Watched the Guys from all over Aust burning up the speed strip in the afternoon.  Very Impressive.

Hey jj, How do you find the 5.5 - good size?
JJ

Great - I used it last at Shark Bay - 25 to 30 knots, perfect size on that day with the Mistral 47.

I use the 6.6 probably 80% of the time though.

Ideally a 6 to fill the gap would be good, but overpowered on the 6.6 (up to 25) and underpowered on the 5.5 (down to 20) has been ok.

I'm around 80kg.

Cheers jj. I use the 6m up to 30 and the 5.5 will be good for over 30:-).

Thanks to all the great sailors who we met at the Lake as well for making us feel wecome.Cool

Thanks to Jimbob for the accom as well. Had a good sleep! But we found this very lonely looking cup. We felt very sorry for it all alone.

So we thought it should be moved to a place where it would have some friends, or at least not look so lonely! LaughingLaughing
