Manning Point, New South Wales, AU, Sailed with Mark J. severne 6.7, warp sl82, jpsl 30cm. Wind didnt really do it for us. 10-12kts. Went for a trek to new speed strip couretesy of Marks car and boat. Got to the boat ramp, launched, 10 mins later at the speed strip. Looked awesome apart from lack of wind but we sailed anyways. Mark and i both hit a sand bank. Both our booms snapped. Bugger!! Alot of potential with wind and the right day.

Thanks Mark for the effort that went in to today. Much appreciated.  Have to order a new boom  from you now. Let me know what you have in stock?

Hope the ribs and back are ok.

Umina Beach, NSW, AU

ESE'er 10-12 knots, pretty choppy, bumpy water

NP 6.2 Atlas Wave Sail + Naish 8'9" Freeride 98L + 29cm weed free fin

Very ordinary conditions, must have been desperate for a sail so went out at the beach. Got a few short runs on the plane but it did not last very long. Wind blew in gusty for about 1 or 2 minutes then it disappeared totally, leaving all bobbing around. Called it a day then.

At least I can say "I had a try".

Lots of bogging around. Was determined not to rig the 7.9 and left it at home , so very underpowered with the 6.5, SL104 Select viper slam 37.Managed a couple of runs. Nice sunny day, warm water and was certain the wind would fill in. Pleasant enough. Getting desperate for a sail!

Sailed with Pete, and Pete from Maitland and a blow in from Qld. Kevin. Bill and Ella showed up later on. The Kiter out there looked like he was more powered up than we were!

Wooo Hoo what a great spot Harrington Bar is. Looks like a NSW version of Sandy Point, but warmer. Would be absolutely cracking in a winter Southerly!!!!!!

I was still getting over the flu still so I didnt sail, but joined the trip to check out the spot and photographically record the first sail there. Got some cracking shots of Dion and MArk.J, and also some video footage of Mark and Dion hiting the shallows and going over the handle bars. You guys are so photogenic. Here are some of the snaps, I hope you enjoy............

NOPE - cant get any of the photos to upload - dunno WTF is going on. They are taken on 8m/p SLR - are the shots too big? If so how can I reduce them?

Steve kicks arse, wow you've done some long runs to Never Never land it appears, didnt know a SE can give you that range to the West of the lake.

Love to see the Google maps of the run at Manning Pt. You must've been real sick Adam if you didnt sail. Bad luck about the booms Mark and Dion, hope you didnt get similar injuries as mine when I got smacked into the mast Mark. Doc's prediction of 6 weeks was spot on...

Fark Raf, what exactly did you smack into the mast to have 6 weeks off? Sick with flu mate, so took one for the team today, but hoping that tomorrow will be much better for a queens assault a-la nuclear

Steve those are cracking numbers - congrats. Graeme and I will be down queens tomorrow if the forecast rings true I might get to give the speedbird a run. Tommy from Gosford is coming up for a few days too and is more than likely gunna come out to queens for a run as well. See you there if you are sailing tomorrow Steve

Steve, too good mate, 34 knots and covered every corner of the lake, you certainly make wind surfing look easy!

Nice speed there Steve!! Killed it mate!. Definitely looked to be more wind up your way. We've been disapointed the last two days.Nowhere near the wind speed predicited. We got two days pf Se 10-12k with the odd rainsquall wind to about 15k.Very sketchy.

Great photos there Adam. The spot looks very flat.Bummer about the booms fellas. You certainly paid your dues. But now at least you know where the dodgy spots are.Where did you launch the boat from?Harrington or down near manning Point? Post your tracks guys, so we can have a look.

Wind still not making a show this morning yet.

we launched from harrington , we left port at 1.30 and where rigging up 1 hour later so its not that bad , so much potential when the tide is low its very flat indeed as good as sandy point , the run is around 800 m  when the wind is from the south .

Looking at the forcast could be another trip over the weekend

Hi Captain. I have a copy on my laptop. Went round and saw MarkJ today and he took a copy of all the photos and video and put it on his computer at the shop. If either of us catch up for a sail you are welcome to take a copy and mess around with it. The footage is of Mark and Dion scooting down the strip, a couple of stacks and gybes too. No scenic stuff - I recently found out emmas SLR does video - should have had a tripod to stop the shakes - will get one, but I prefer to be on the other end of the lens, so not sure if I would use it enough.
