JP134 Gaastra GTX 7m JP36weed, light wind estuary sail, about 12 to 16kts for first hour second hour dropped to 10 to 15kts.  Very enjoyable cruisy sailLaughing  Was trying to go for distance as well but wind just kept getting lighter, didn't want to be stuck out, so abandoned at 60km.

Went out for my first ocean blast this season, unfortunately the wind dropped 4 knots and I was a bit undercooked.

First time out on the open water with the Slalom IV and after trading my beloved SX I was a bit aprehensive as to if it would match the open water performance, It was f**ken awesome, felt realy light on my feet and handled a dream, just wish there was more wind so as to realy fire it up.

The Benderman was on fire showing the diversity of pong and demonstarting his open water skills. Very impressive to watch him do bottom turns and slashy cutbacks when wave riding, No BullshitCool Was even more impressed watching him do a shoulder high (board height) jumpCool. Hate to see what he can do when he gets his hands on his wave kit.

Great fun

Great time again and  perfect setup Cool, stable 15 knots S

Warmed up in the pond, then left for the bay..went for a cruise, tried for hour and some distance.

Not easy out there for the hour Undecided, but very happy with my results as there are all for the bay not the pond!

I just love my big rig, it felt perfect Cool, I had a ball..

Looked at the Estuary at 13:30 but wind too light and weed looked horrible

Went to Avalon and saw someone was out. Went down to beach boat launch area and saw Benders car. Rigged 6.5 Raptor, Iso 105 with JP 36 weedy and launched.

At Benders suggestion we worked upwind to practice a downwinder. Underpowered the whole session and particularly to start with and at the end. Messed up every gybe but it was good fun. Thanks for the tip on boom height Bender.... definitely felt more comfortable higher . Elmo arrived as I left but wind was dropping.

Bender looked superb on his kit, flying across and up wind and occasionally playing in the waves (and the reefUndecided).

My tracks below, ruler 1.4 miles

I really enjoyed it out on the ocean even if I could only wobble around a few gybe. With hindsight I shall stay a bit closer to the beach..... it could otherwise be a long swim if there is a problem,

The Iso 105 was fine on the open water but I guess it was not big swell or chop.

The other factor that made it so nice and easy blasting was that  it was only 15knts. It was the smoothest ocean sailing i have done in a while.
