Clayton Channel

iSW49 / 5.8 Koncept / 26 Venom.

Rigged in the headlights at 6am and waited....and waited....and waited. Finally at 11am it hit - HARD. But only for a half hour or so. Then backed off to around 20knots. Goolwa weather station peaked at 40 NNW but that's on a hill top so take of 5 knots or so. Heaps of blowing sand (aka acidic soil) and very very square. NW would have been awesome - maybe next time. This is the most powered I've been at this new spot to date. Hope to have a few more like it. Nice to finally improve my NM - look out Vando.....I'm after you.

Gear was all fantastic. First time on the 26 Venom - bit too big for today's peak wind, but bloody fantastic.

Hamma, Choco, Carl, Sam and the crew still out there. They might have some PB's too.

What a day!!!!!!!!!!!! 1st time at Clayton channel - great spotLaughing.  Sand bank just keeps going - glass water - great for nautical milesLaughing.  Can't wait to try this place with speed board.  Very square today and missed the HUGE front.  Sam and me were too busy having a port and deciding what to rig.  By the time we rigged our sails the wind dropped to 15 - 25 knots.  Decided to take the slalom boards for a cruise.  Glad we did it was great fun.....

Clayton channel - 15 - 25 knots.

Fanatic falcon 89 / 2009 5.8m koncept / c3 32cm venom.

Wow what a day left at 3.30am to get to Clayton, rigged up and played around on the light wind gear to start, then a rain squall come through and i jumped on the SP50 and cruised down the course about 4km into the ride i clipped something with my fin and i went over the handle bars.My board and sail decided to seperate(broke bottom of base) and i was left swimming into shore for around 30 mins, long speed courses mean a long walk back over 4k's to be exact, the first 1km i had to carry my gear when i got back i was totally farked.

Got out again on the SP50 but i was sapped for strength still had a great sail....what a top place.

Chris, who's the haigly prick in the videoWinkTongue out Thanks for posting. You run close to those markers at times. But very smooth controlCool

Here is a challenge for the IT guru's how can the speed be embedded into one corner, so it reads off like digital speed dial as the run progresses. ?

Will ask the Guru NEBBIAN he may be able to come up with a solution.
