BUNBURY Back beach sse 5-12knts

F2 SX XL, RSR 8.4m, RRD 50cm pointer

Rigged in what looked like nice 15knts (unlike yesterday). As i stepped in the water it died and swung more easterly. Had auick cruise, got planing most of the time for a couple of runs then it died al together.

i was out on my wave gear today, noticably slower, i also snapped my tendon 2km out to sea and had to swim everything in then run to my car to go pick up my gear, still had fun tho, theres something about being stuck out to sea swimming in your gear for 1.5 hours thats fun... ah well had a good laugh when i finally got to the beach

Started off with and Venon 26 and did first 5 runs with it to get 5x10, then experimented with last 3 runs on the strike 22cm, and used Missile S Gaastra Vapor 5.5m all day.  The strike assy is definitely the faster fin, did fastest run of the day on it in less wind, and solid as a rock, in hindsight shoulda used it at the start.  The other guys John R, Hamma amd Shelby were doing 42's to 44's, and having a look at the video at the end of the day, there is a big technique issue with my sailing a hangover from 15 years of wavesailing.  Harness lines too short, arms and legs too bent, riding too much on top of the board and not using my ample leverage and body outboard.  Thanx Hamma and Daffy for pointing it out!!

The feeling of going doing that run is just so exhilirating, one of the best feelings avauilable in life!!  Towards the end I started to get used to it, and either wish I had a bigger sail, or better technique to get more power out of what I had!!

After walking back 1.5 kms in soft sand on 8 occassions I can honestly say That I am  truly f'd today!!!

GPS Display 39.81 (Strike 22 in less wind), had another 39.75 (venom 26 in stronger winds)

Jason was that a tendon as in uni joint or tendon as in achilles?

I thought the former, but Toby clearly thinks its the latter, and now I'm not sure Undecided

Hardie it's a sensational spot to sail aint it?

The run is so long and you can really get in the groove.  Too much wind for me on Spotty's Sunday, but I had a really nice sesh on the Monday morning.

I'm definintely going back for more, it's the best speedsailing spot I've ever sailed by a long shot.

Well done, Hardie! Glad to see it was worth the trip.

Apart from getting back to the warm how are you ever going to get motivated to sail less than perfect conditions in WA?!

Top effort Hardie, well done. Great you were able to get some pointers from the guru's while you had time on the water for technique improvements. Goes to show your 40 at cheese graters was a huge effort in its self. Smile
