Elmo (15665km): JP Speed 54 & KenElmo Weed 24cm, JP Supersport 100L & JP Freeride weed 36cm, NP RS4 6.7m. What a day out on the water, lots of Perth Riff raff down to have a wade through our snot Went out originally on the Speed 54 struggled a bit as the wind wasn't as strong as it looked and I'm to fat and lazy to really pump the sail hard, Gonna have to pull my finger out and make a 28cm weedy for this beastie as the 24cm is just a bit small when not fully lit. still was having a ball on it, was just about to go in when got traped by snot and had to gybe around only to find best gust of the session so far on us, charged down the run chasing Pepe (jeeze he's getting quick) getting best speed and Nm. Came in and changed boards to the 100 supersport and the 36cm weedy cause as i've mentioned earlier I'm fat and lazy, Didn't go the 31cm after yesterday, took of down the run and imediately noticed the difference a bit more wind makes, it was "lively" with the 36 top say the least, did a few more runs with the same liveliness, got back and sailed down the channel actually got 27knots sailing almost directly down wind unhooked and out of footstraps. Trod on at least a dozen crabs today, with the practise I'm getting I'm able to squeel with a bit more of tune Great sailing with the Perth mobs fair bit of carnage of which I'm glad I didn't contribute. Bring on more of these days in summer
Pepe47 (7101km): Tabou manta 64, 6.2 Hellcat, 31cm elmo weedie. Rigged up with Elmo and Sam, amongst a growing crowd. Tried to guage the wind but in the end just looked what everyone else was rigging, laziness paid off as I was comfortably powered up the whole day. Looked like getting a great NM until Elmo blasted past with his patented Yaahooo. Really need to keep a watch on the weed trails, getting treacherous in the shallower water.

Sammy (16210km): Great to catch up with few teams at Hardies.. Craw (3644km): jp 62 ss,6.2 rss mk111,29 ss fin/jp 68sl,7.0 rss mk111,36 jp "elmo'd"weed Normal day at Melville-gusty as s*!t,Felt like I had to learn how to sail againcouldn't get it together for most of the time-had wave gear go past me a few times, spent lots of time swimming waiting for gusts and then when things fell into place was crapping myself with how shallow it was.Still nice to get wet and finally see some decent speeds .Top speeds on the supersport-I love this board
Bender (19030km): F2 SX XL (PONG), RSSMKIII 7.8m, 40cm MFC pointer Down winder from Dalyellup Beach to BP beach. LOC training run. 15-25knts mostly 20knts Southerly LOC training run. The new MKIII felt good. I was a tad over sailed and boarded so was on the limit and uncomfortable the whole way. I think thats what you need to try and keep up with the big boys in the LOC. I had many brown trouser moments and some bigs jumps that happily ended well. I stopped halfway for some tuning/adjustments and it felt better. The second half i was in control and able to really lock it in and go for it. One very happy Bender |
