Gaastra Vapor 6m F2 Missile S Choco Weed 24cm  Well the choco weed worked well, so dont feel so bad about paying $259.00 for it now.  Wind dropped out later on, but still some good gusts early, totally psyched out by Hardies Run ATM with all those weed banks.  Bender's day today, sailed with hunger (and Skill), well done!!!!!

Hardies run in 20+knots

I wanted to try for a 5x10PB today. Spent the first 20km's on the SX. Got some 35's so thought it was time to get the missile out.

Very happy everything felt sweet today. Used the bigger fin as it was prety choppy and it gave me alot more control in the chop/slop.

Gotta be happy with a PB. Too many floating weed Islands to really wind up.

ONE HAPPY BENDER

JP Speed 54L, NP RSR 5.8m, Elmo Weed 25cm 45º

Looking at the graph looked like I got down there to late just as the wind was starting to fade. Still very happy with the session as I was testing out a new fin on the speed 54 an area which I had been previously struggling with, not anymore, felt realy good, felt some nice flex in it when loaded up and no spinout, after first couple of runs went a bit deeper and real happy.

Went back to shore to give Bender a CD, decided to change to another fin to give it a test drive, went out, struggled thgrough the weed which kept clogging ther fin, cauught my sail on footstrap and snapped the bottom batton, flpped board over to clear fin and found some useless gumby muppet hadn't done up the front fin screw and the fin was hanging out, went back to shore and the wind just kept dropping.

Plan for today was distance, but early wind was just a tease, sucked us out then deserted us, more than once!

Did some alpha practice instead, looks like during my best one, GPS lost a satelite or two, gives a strange looking squared of "U" shape on the graph. Strangely trackpoints gives 23.84 but doppler gives 24.46.

What hurts more thou is a 24.83 with 56m seperation, going to have to get our alpha buoys out again!!!!! Think I'll have to check this in realspeed, that may have a different interpretation. (edit) realspeed says the same, except it gives me a couple more doppler kms

Hmmmmm. Plan was for distance, all went well except the wind did not cooperate

Initialy Isonic and RSSII 6.7 ( could have used 5.8 when I first launched at 0600 but the winf dissappeared) Then SXL and 7.8RSS and choco 40 weedy. And guess what ........ I can go up wind beter with mast base further back. I wait to see how I control the nose in strong wind though (think I will just have to alter stance to compensate).

Average speed for 4 hours less than 5kts.

Still it was good to be on the water and nice to have Decrepits company .

Off water at 11 and wind was 8 gusting 13 kts. Off for family stuff. Passed the estuary at 3pm  on way to Adventure world with the kids and it was blowing well ( just as it had briefly at 545). Loads of people, MH trailer trash parked on the road rather in the executive parking spaces
