went with the ca sl62,rssmk2 6.2 and weedy 34

should of nailed a pb if i hadnt of stopped to adjust the boom and the foot strapsYell

wind was prob gusting to 25kn and ave 20-22 good conditions for cranking across the cess pit

spent the last 20 minutes overpowered and sheeted out due to too much fin and foam under foot

top fun!!!

After a week off the water due to 24/7 work constraints I was keen for a session.

Backed my own judgement and went to Hardies. Strangely, when I got there at about 4.30 it was deserted. No Mandurah Mobbers. Snides arrived after a short while. The breeze was not really honking but we rigged 6.4 and 6.2 respectively and hit the water just after 5 to grind out an hour! When we had completed it there was still no others on the water. We had Peel Inlet to ourselves and it was great! Brown like iced coffee, full of weed and crap but solid breeze.

6.4 Koncept 2010, 64 Manta, 35 weed 45 degree.

27 by the end of summer!

Good tough racing today in the Peli Point Slalom, and James D was on fire, aceing nearly every heat - well done! I had a 2nd, a 4th, a 5th, a shocker and a DNS.

I rigged quite big in anticipation of the breeze backing off and heading around to the South like last week - but it didn't, it stayed over 20 knots until the end. I was using the Manta 69 with a 42 Talon and North Warp F2009 7.0m. The fact that this gear was controllable is testimony to the incredible draught stabililty in the sail - I could get planing on this in 11-12 knots, but still cling on in gusts approaching 25 - though it was bloody hard. It's fortunate that the chop at Peli Point is fairly benign in that it's all coming from the same direction. I'm telling myself that sailing very overpowered / finned is good training - for what I don't know.

Thanks once again go to Ian, Benny and Garry for running the event.

These tracks are entirely from the five races as I did no other sailing today.

Fun session of slalom racing at PP. Missed the first race and rigged both CR7.7 and 6.5 expecting wind to drop as normal. Surprisingly it stayed in nicely with a few good gusts coming through. Got off to a cracking start in second race but ran into Norts at the first mark trying to go too tight inside -Sorry Norts!.

Second race was a complete surprise, started well and managed to avoid the carnage at the first two marks and found myself in the lead (!) by the last mark with James D breathing down my neck. All i had to do was make the gybe but talked myself out of it and blew it. Still came a surprising 2nd, with a 7th and 6th to follow on. Made up for the embarrassment of Sunday's downwinder a bit.

CR6.5 IS87 and Vector 34

Congrats PD on a smoking hour down at Crabland
