Hardie (20239km): Yawn.......... Another Windsurf.......... However rigged wrong which made it a bigger yawn than it needed to be, SPOILT WA BRAT Rigged 6.3m TR-4 coz I wanted to sail it, needed to have put up a 7.6m, and used a bigger board, I used Manta 64 and LE Weed 33cm. At least I used up some energy and lost a bit of FAT!!
Adam (7212km): Hardies Today rigged 7.5 went out and did 2 runs could not sheet it in, got my best alpha with this on changed down to 6.7 and went cruising found one of those clumps of weed that brings you to a complete stop and throws you over the handle bars then whilst gathering my thoughts and chacking my gear after that had a massive stingray swim past me yet another of the dangers of hardies run. took my headcam off and filmed the ray will check and upload if any good later out of all the NM runs i did my best one had a gybe in it with its last points being the crash Elmo turned up and took all the wind, thought i was going to have to grovel all the way back from the far side of claudesville fortunately a puff turned up when i neared the platform to get me close to the right side of the estaury pretty happy good start to 2009 NP V8 7.5, NP RS Racing 6.7, Isonic 101, Choco 40 cm weedy and flying objects 34 cm weedy
Decrepit (22059km): Went for distance with Evets, unfortunately early wind was very up and down, and I wasn't in the mood to grovel. Started with a mates ancient 6.8 Avalon race sail, and the Thommen with herby's fin, didn't do much good on this combo, wind was too light. When Steve came back, I borrowed his Starboard 101, wind had picked up a bit and the 6.8 felt just right. Did 23Nm on this, wind puicked up a bit more so gave Steve his board back, rigged the 6.0 lightning and took the Thommen back out, had some nice runs at Claudseville with Steve, then came back for a break at 50nm managed another 16nm after the break, then broke a footstrap screw coming out of a gybe. Tokk this as a sign that it was time to stop.
Elmo (15665km): JP SS 100L, NP RS4 6.7, Chooko weeeeeeed 40cm. Last one down there , chronic case of ungripedness, helped Herr Schnider out with his sail as a means of procrastination, eventually rigged way to small should have kicked my one working brain cell into gear with Snides on a 110L board and a 7m sail. Hmmmm happy Muppett new year ya big gumby. Struggled to get planing a bit, when going the 40cm rudder worked a treat and was a real advantage in keeping moving, but overall seriously underdone. Was quite happy with a few jibes apart from the one Snides the smug git gave me when whistling past me whilst I was chugging yelling something about to much christmas pudding Alphas done now in Doopler, GPS GT11 Oh well theres allways tomorow Happy new year everyone
Bender (19030km): lechenault Inlet 8-15knts WSW Spent the arvo letting my Brother and Sister inlaw try windsurfing as both had sailed 25yrs ago. i rigged my 4.7m Tushy Rock on my 10'5" Starboard SUP. Its the perfect begginers set up. I even sailed with my niece and nephew on the front and went chasing the two dolphins that were hanging around. Once they had had enough i took it out for a spin. Got some nice gusts and got her planing. Happy with the speeds for a SUP.
Webby (1927km): Late post again a good sail isonic 94 and 6.7 N/P slalom. Good to see a few out ready to start the new year with a bang.
Jason WASURF (1009km): 6.3 Tr4, 79 fanatic falcon, 23 ka weed, @ safety bay one major hangover plus dehydration.... oh well went out on the wave gear after that short run :)

evets (10573km): EDITED FOR WHOLE DAY early start: forecast was good for a day sailing, no-one told the wind Rigged for the conditions when I arrived (as soon as it was light I could see white caps all across the estuary). Isonic 105, RSSII6.7 36 JP weedy. planed a bit initially after working into deeper water upwind but wind dropped, 8 miles in 2 hours. should have rigged for the forecast! F2 SX L 7.8RSS and 40 choco weedy. That was better but wind still too inconsistent to make it worth continuing. It may not be the highest #s for the year but it is the first post!
THEN IN THE AFTERNOON 12:00 Went back for more, met decrepit on the grass, snides was out but grovelling mostly. Rigged 7.8RSS and F2 SX L 40 choco. wind got stronger and stronger, thenat 2:30 rigged 5.8RSSII and 31 jp weedy on Iso 105. GT11 showing 240NM so obviously had spiked at some point, now did not know how far I had sailed Plan was to be comfortable and continue distance, couple of runs then followed decrep to claudesville. WOW what an awesome area to sail, flat water and steady wind. On way back wind dropped a couple of times but may have been windshadow as we continued until about 6:10 when Decrepit had foot strap failure. Had I known I was on 182 kms I would have gone on to 200 but never mind. Image shows morning in yellow and pm in blue. Great day on the water.
I made an error with Realspeed. I had edited the alpha 500 division from trackkpoint to doppler but it did not save. I have now corrected this. and another error: had put in distance for 2 sec not speed |
