5448 days ago 2 categories Another good session at Hardies with Mike "The man of the day", Matt, Elmy (pussy, well done today),Adam (you a big souck and should have come with us), Chris and Craig "The legends".. First I want to give my big RESPECT to MIKE for his superb Hour
My previous PB Hr felt like a walk in a park in comparaison because today it was very choppy sailing in 1 to 3 foot chops and exausting trying to keep the speed up. When I arrived and look the water it look perfect for it (little 15-17kts) and asked Mike "do you want a PB today?" he said YES would be nice to do a 23+... I said today it will be a 24 and I want a 25... its going to be piece of cake (I was going to use the same setup that the last time with a bit more wind, so I had to do better!).. By the time I was ready the wind had pickup and the water was very choppy.. I knew then it was not going to be a pleasant ride anymore! Ado was here and was going to join us but his foot was not looking good... sorry you never made it... but you know what, it was not that great at all and can do better in the right condition!
When arrived to the top I was looking for some flat water to have a bit of relax and had few laps around Claudsville with Mike and made my way back....I went too deep of the wind and got lost and end up at the bottom of the Estuary dying for water as I forgot at home my precious water camel pack which I NEVER SAIL WITHOUT IT. I was stuck down there, looking for my way and the ride was super hard in 2 foot close chops facing you (first time I went there) and panic a little I have to admit I was thirsty lost and tired now and fall of... (only time of the day I did). I took the importunity to have a breath and think to where the hell I was.. After spotting the platform miles up, I realised I far I went.... my Hr has 13 jybes
Aaaaah I am back to shore yeeeeah what the feeling.. I was death...., I jumped on the water bottle, a big drink, a cold shower, relaxxxx..
Went to Mike gave him a big warm hand and congratulated him already for his new PB I knew we made it..
After a good break and some of Mike's energy home made cakes, I bolted on the 5.8 the 44 with a freshly filed couple of hours before a Select and went to have some drag racing with Slowy and Spotty... thaaat was fun.. and felt realy privilaged to be sailing beside to those 2 speed mastesr. Thank you to Craig and Chris for joining us today.. I was a great pleasure to be around you and meet finilly THE Spotty and have a sail with him ( jjjj he is a big guy ) and quite impressive to see him holding the line on the 53 with a mini 23 cm... and Chris was even worse with his 40, 7m and mini slim 22cm.. it just show us how much work we still have to do
Tide was a tad low for the inside run and choppy to do some max speed but still was good FUN.... aaaaaah what the greaaaat day
