What a happy Decrep!!!!!

Set out to break my 1hr PB, and succeeded by almost 2 kts!!!

OH what a feeling!

Hope Sam has a PB as well, He's gone back out to do some speed runs, but I was too buggered.

Used the 6.0 lightning, thommen and herby 28cm fin

I only did 10 runs to get the 78km, 6 gybes in the hour, one of which I stuffed.

Nice to meet Spotty, he was following Slowboat around in the chop when I left,

Adam, Elmo and Man of, also fanging around.

Huge congrats to Decrep for theSolid Hour PBCool

JP Speed 54, NP RS4 6.7m, Tom 30/30 & Elmo SS Weed 29cm

After the day down at Bunbury with family eventualy got down the run after 5, quick discussion with Adam convinced me to go the 6.7m. Originaly went out with the 30/30 fin to see how it would go as a slalom/speed fin, pointe it down the run a couple of times but it was generating to much lift and starting to snap my ankles a bit.

Went back and changed to trusty 29cm chop buster weedy, results showing straight up , with it being a lot easier to run. got some good runs which I was fairly happy with, a few butt clenchers where the weed was an issue.

Appologies to Slowie once again who I turned in front of wheni was bailing from a run made more interesting from my POV as my toes had somehow managed to get stuck on top of the leward foot strap which had me crapping myself with trying to figure out how to get my foot sorted trying to keep the board on the water through the chop and not carve up Chris to much who was hammering down the run behind me.

Good to meet Spotty

Another  good session at Hardies with Mike "The man of the day", Matt, Elmy (pussy, well done today),Adam (you a big souck and should have come with us), Chris and Craig "The legends".. First Cool I want to give my big RESPECT to MIKE for his superb HourCool

My previous PB Hr  felt like a walk in a park in comparaison because today it was very choppy sailing in 1 to 3 foot chops and exausting trying to keep the speed up. When I arrived and look the water it look perfect for it (little 15-17kts) and asked Mike "do you want a PB today?" he said YES would be nice to do a 23+... I said today it will be a 24 and I want a 25... its going to be piece of cake (I was going to use the same setup that the last time with a bit more wind, so I had to do better!).. By the time I was ready the wind had pickup and the water was very choppy.. I knew then it was not going to be a pleasant ride anymore! Ado was here and was going to join us but his foot was not looking good... sorry you never made it... but you know what, it was not that great at all Wink and can do better in the right condition!

When arrived to the top I was looking for some flat water to have a bit of relax and had few laps around Claudsville with Mike and made my way back....I went too deep of the wind and got lost and end up at the bottom of the Estuary dying for water as I forgot at home my precious water camel pack which I NEVER SAIL WITHOUT ITCry. I was stuck down there, looking for my way and the ride was super hard in 2 foot close chops facing you (first time I went there) and panic a little I have to admit Embarassed I was thirsty lost and tired now and fall of... (only time of the day I did). I took the importunity to have a breath and think to where the hell I was.. After spotting the platform miles up, I realised I far I went.... my Hr has 13 jybes

Aaaaah I am back to shore yeeeeah what the feeling.. I was death...., I jumped on the water bottle, a big drink, a cold shower, relaxxxx..

Went to Mike gave him a big warm hand and congratulated him already for his new PB Cool I knew we made it..

After a good break and some of Mike's energy home made cakes, I bolted on the 5.8 the 44 with a freshly filed couple of hours before a Select and went to have some drag racing with Slowy and Spotty... thaaat was fun.. and felt realy privilaged to be sailing beside to those 2 speed mastesr. Thank you to Craig and Chris for joining us today.. I was a great pleasure to be around you and meet finilly THE Spotty and have a sail with him ( jjjj he is a big guy Surprised) and quite impressive to see him holding the line on the 53 with a mini 23 cm... and Chris was even worse with his 40, 7m and mini slim 22cm.. it just show us how much work we still have to do Wink

Tide was a tad low for the inside run and choppy to do some max speed but still was good FUN.... aaaaaah what the greaaaat day Cool

WHATS NEXT Wink

Thanks guys, yep, trully stoked!!! Haven't felt this good since I landed my 1sy back loop, (even thou I didn't sail away from it).

Runs were almost the full width of the estuary, about 8km, legs and feet were just hanging out for a change of direction by the end of each run.

It will be even better if Sam does as well or better, he had a 34kt up when he came in, I was only showing 30Kt.

Yes Cam, I've now got an added incentive, there's a couple of Victorians champing at my heels for the legend status this year.

Just check Mal Faulkner's 1st post.

Doddies Wall !! Me totally out of my depth with the conditions, sailed as close to the wall as possible to get flattest water, but wind is definitely less, 50 to 100m is strongest wind but choppier, so sailed within 10 to 20 metres but wind at least 5 kts less, My GPS was on pause for about 40 mins plus, when reset it, got a few 33'ws, iso 86 27cm weed, gaaastra vapor 6m, coming back thru mogul chop and way overpowered just wore me out quickly, unfortunately found out again with lack of skill and inadequate testicular formations

OK here's my tracks, they look a little different to Sam's

!st 2 runs tacking South to the point, next 7 runs 1hr downwind. Then 2  short tacks back up, (in the smooth stuff) before another long one back to base.

It's a bit hard to follow the right track, there's an awfull tangle in the middle where 3 lines cross. the 5th hr run is actually the lower line, not as it appears to be the higher line.

This probably shows it better, the highlighted hr from GPSresults.

Next time, I'll go more downwind, and try not to get lost in the Islands!

Yes looks like you went a bit too far downwind in the middle bit, that's why some of your upwind run got included.

Next time we'll both do it better!
