Hardie (20239km): Stormy Gusty Choppy iSonic 86 Venom 26cm TR-4 5.9m Great combo, the iSo was flying with that fin!!!!!!!!!
Decrepit (22059km): Not the best conditions for sail testing, gusty and choppy. Tried the top end of the 6.0 first, and was overpowered, couldn't get the power down, changed to the 5.3 and that was better, took me a while to get settings about right, then boom adjustement slipped. Came in and changed booms, but my good boom is a tad too long for the 5.3, not sure what I'm going to do about that, cause there's also a 4.7 on order.
Elmo (15665km): JP Slalom VI 59cm + Elmo Chopbuster weed 29cm & Elmo 22° 33cm, JP Speed 54+ JP Speed 28cm, NP RSR 5.8m Elmo you are a stupid useless, goomba, fumb ducker, muppet faced spawny eyed parrot faced wazzok!!!!!!After warning everybody about the weeed patch of imminent death in front of the launch area guess what I hit at speed coming into shore what a complete F'ken gimboyd. Very high tide today, very very gusty, and very choppy, other than that it was fine, oh hang on I also sailed like a complete goit Went out initialy with the slalom board and chop buster, every run was exciting with a few good jumps in them, thought it was a bit bumpy 3/4's of the way through the rock garden so went to the inside where everyone else was, by the time I got there the wind picked up another notch and made it very exciting, finally had a guts full so I thought im sailing crap with a slaom board how bad can it be with a speed board. Quickly threw together the speed 54 and for the first time chucked the oem 28cm Speed fin on it, unfortunately the wind had backed of again and as there is not much fin area I had to wait for a stronger gust, felt reeeeeeaaaaaalllllllyy wierd till it eventually got powered up then it took of, felt very slippery, but with the weed and snot around, I didn't think my bowels could contain that much crap, every run was to say the least exciting wondering when I would hit weed, that and the monster wheelie. Really stoked that my best Alphas were actually on the speed board in the middle of the rock garden, the board was such a pain in the freckle to get going in the lighter winds that I just worked super hard at getting the gybe right. Thanks to Evets for the Yellow safety glass's, definate improvement with the apparent light, next time I'll chuck some rainex on them so I can see through them when it rains Big congrats to Hards on top speed for the day and for Bender for giving me a long anticipated arse whoopingBring on the next time when Hopefully I can get the tail out from between my legs and redeem myself.
Bender (19030km): Hardies in blustery WSW 20-25knt CA50, RS6 6.2m, 26benetic weedy Lots of fun. Wish i had chucked the new RSR 5.0m inthe car this morning i could have got its maiden voyage out of the way today. Heaps of fun and lots of bumps. Its nice to get some half decent speeds after the doldrums!!
Sammy (16210km): Good turn around with few crab crushers .. Very happy with the first real test performance of the new board, tempted to go on the small one but wanted to see and feel! Started on the 5.8 RSR, but quickly changed down to 5.0 RSS, a bit underdone at time but don't think there was perfect combo for that kind of weather... nothing then a lot.. the 5.8 felt a full hand sometime, probably coz was so choppy! 5 was very confy and cruisy and made last the session . Persisted on using that mod Duo fin and only realised my mistake when changed the fin near the end!! Good testing session, the board felt much more controlable in the chops, my NM speak for itself I think ! Max speed on my 50 is 36.5..Very happy.. The only down side on the board I have to complain about is the poor finish of the fin box!! What the sh@#%! none of my fins fit on it properly, and the screws holes are out of center, had to re-drilled them... fin was sticking down about 5mm +!! Lucky did not do any spinouts!! Great to see Bendy (its not often!), well done el Capo.. you done it again ( I will have to work harder!), nice to catch up with everyone X-Fire 80L/53, RSR_5.8, 240/40_Duo Mod -- RSS_5.0, 245/38_Special |
