Old Salty (1642km): Mistral Barge 144 Select 42 Tushy 7.5 Inverloch on a 10 - 15 kt day with a few 18 kt gust thrown in. Seven foolish windsurfers out in 13c day. Water was probably 10 c. But fun all the same. No broken equipment was a bonus! On the quick runs felt really solid over the waves and locked down except when popped out of the harness lines Tide was high so we did have to put up with a few small pieces of chop | ||||||||||||||||||
Drift (5307km): LOCATION: ANGLING CLUB WIND: SW 10-15kts PEAKING 18 KTS THEN SHIFTING S-SW 15 KTS SAILORS: OLD SALTY, MOONDO, CHUNNY, MEGS, PETER GEAR: Excite Ride 160, 42cm Jp fin down to Excite Ride 135., 34cm fin, KA KOYOTE 7.4 DETAILS: Got there early to pick up the last of the strip as the king tide came in...Wind was solid but slightly too low to hook onto the run. As the tide filled out it was possible to rn right over the sandbar which is a rarety....the water was pretty flat given the direction and tide. It dropped off at about 2.30 and a few of us came in and started to derig. It then fired up again so I headed back out with Moondo and got my fastest runs of the day. Also snapped the front of my board (again). Looks like the repair that was already done did not take too well. |
